Solana has risen by 2% in the past 24 hours, bouncing up to $220 on a day when Bitcoin (BTC) has posted yet another all-time high.

SOL is now up by 2.3% in a week, and while it’s actually down by 6.5% in a month, it remains up by a very solid 200% in a year.

And many analysts continue to produce bullish Solana price predictions, with Messari’s annual Crypto Theses report suggesting that “2025 may well mark the year of Solana as a fully realized ecosystem.”

The report points to the growth Solana has enjoyed in most areas of the crypto landscape, and with SOL-based ETFs likely in the coming year, 2025 may very well bring some serious price gains for the alt.

According to the report, Messari is “bullish on Solana for 2025, driven by its strong momentum and pioneering innovations in applications.”

The crypto intelligence firm highlights a number of areas in which Solana is leading the market, including AI, meme coins, DEXes, DeFi and DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure networks).

Its authors conclude that “2024 was the year of Solana” and while they note that speculation initially played a big role in its price gains, “its fundamentals began to substantiate” its early promise as the year progressed.

The report doesn’t provide any specific price predictions for Solana in 2025, yet the positive mention of “Solana’s expanding footprint in areas beyond finance” would suggest that Messari expects the coin’s price to only rise next year.

As for the near term, its chart shows the coin regaining some momentum after a few days of decline.

For example, RSI (purple) has jumped toward 60 in the past few hours and looks like it could be on its way to 70 or higher, bringing the Solana price with it.

At the same time, its 30-period moving average (orange) looks it has bottomed and is ready to climb over the 200-period average (blue) again, suggesting that we may be entering a bullish phase.

Indeed, with Bitcoin reaching new ATHs it seems that the market is gearing up for its semi-traditional end-of-year rally, and this will include Solana.

The alt could hit $250 or $260 by the end of the year, while 2025 could see it break $400 by H1.

Alternatives for Big Market-Beating Gains in 2025

Solana may end up being a big winner in 2025, but now that it’s an established alt we may see newer, smaller cap tokens outperforming it in percentage terms.

This could also include presale coins, which often surge considerably when they list on exchanges for the first time, particularly if their sale was successful.
