The crypto market is tanking today and AI coins like Worldcoin (WLD) have not been spared from the sell-off triggered by Donald Trump tariffs.

In the past 24 hours, WLD has gone down by 13% to $0.6265. At some point during the Asian session, the token reached a record low of $0.5817.

As a result of today’s drop, WLD has shed 91.1% of its value in the past year. Another AI token called Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (FET) has booked similar annual losses of 86.2%.

Meanwhile, Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL), a platform through which users can create AI-powered AI agents, has still held on to some of its early gains and its token has still delivered 192% gains in the past 12 months despite the rout.

Worldcoin, a project backed by the head of OpenAI, Sam Altman, is a platform that creates decentralized virtual identities through biometric scans.

Worldcoin Approaches Record Lows – How Lower Can It Go?

Five days ago, we warned that WLD had retraced to the 61.8% Fibonacci level in the daily chart and rejected a move above this area. This resulted in a bearish outlook and raised the odds that WLD would drop to all-time lows in the near term.

As expected, the price broke below the $0.6930 level and moved to record-low levels today. Since this is one of the lowest levels that Worldcoin has reached since the token was launched, it is hard to tell how much lower it can go from here.

Trading volumes have gone up by 266% in the past 24 hours to $238 million and currently account for 31% of the token’s circulating market cap.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is near oversold levels but could easily move lower during the rest of the session while the MACD’s histogram still shows mild negative readings.

Based on these technical readings, the downturn could get much worse before a technical bounce is due.

The most promising AI coins continue to be those that are still flying under most investors’ radars as they can still deliver surprisingly high returns once they are listed on exchanges and offered to the general public.
