Justin Taylor, Head of Consumer Product Marketing at Twitter, has questioned claims by Yuga Labs co-founder Gordon Goner that the project’s social media accounts encounter a possible attack that would involve an insider at Twitter.
In a Sunday tweet, Goner claimed that they have received “credible information that there may soon be an attack on our social media accounts, using an inside source at Twitter to bypass our security,” insisting that the company has no intentions of a surprise mint.
Goner also claimed that they have been in touch with Twitter officials, who allegedly “confirmed that they have an active monitor on the accounts and security has been escalated.”
We’ve been in contact with Twitter and they confirmed that they have an active monitor on the accounts and security has been escalated. We’re feeling more secure, but please stay safe everyone. And remember there will be no surprise mints.

However, Twitter’s Head of Marketing questioned the accusations in a subsequent tweet.
“I highly doubt it. Surprised no one has reached out to me,” Taylor said.
In response to another Twitter user who said “now we gotta worry about inside employees,” Taylor added that they “don’t need to worry about it.”

Yuga Labs is the entity behind some of the most popular nonfungible token (NFT) collections including the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Otherside.
Notably, the warning comes just one week after the project’s Discord servers were hacked and attackers managed to post phishing links in both the official BAYC and Otherside’s Discord channels, snatching ETH 200 worth of assets.
