Unveiled on Monday, WDK will allow businesses and developers to integrate non-custodial wallets into any app or website. The kit aims to enhance USDT and Bitcoin user experiences, while offering a wide range of features.
The WDK supports both human users and machines like AI agents and robots, the announcement read. Additionally, the kit is designed to withstand even the most challenging scenarios.
“The WDK is modular, independent, and resilient — putting power back into the hands of developers and their creations.”
The newly unveiled software is in honour of the anniversary of the Bitcoin Whitepaper published in 2008.
With Tether’s fully self-custodial WDK, developers can build advanced mobile, desktop, and web wallet experiences. Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether calls it a “shift” towards a new paradigm of financial resilience.
“With WDK by Tether, we can build programmable, open, and resilient monetary systems that connect people, machines, robots, families, communities, AI agents, societies, and even planets, to remain in control of our own financial destiny.”
Apart from being non-custodial and eliminating third-party reliance, WDK can also be customised.
“[It] Offers a flexible and adaptable design, making it easy for businesses across industries to implement, from game studios to fintech platforms,” the release read.
Further, the software is quicker, simplifying the setup process and enabling developers to seamlessly integrate.
WDK’s Focus on Bitcoin, Tether’s Stablecoins
According to Ardoino, Tether’s WDK focuses on open-source, super-modular, highly scalable and battle-tested development libraries. These are easy to integrate on any platform, he added.
Further, the WDK will soon embrace all blockchains supported by Tether’s stablecoins. It also aims to expand by offering UI templates for any platform to build non-custodial experiences.
The WDK by Tether was previewed at the recent Lugano Plan B event. Ardoino said at the time that the kit used peer-to-peer (P2P) structures to adjust data security.
