XRP has risen 1.6% in the past 24 hours, reaching $2.34 as the market continues its post-weekend recovery.

As the best-performing cryptocurrency among the top five this year, XRP has gained 12.6% in 2025.

Some analysts believe it could be on the verge of a major breakout—one that might even challenge Ethereum’s position as the second most valuable digital asset.

A pseudonymous analyst on X, Dom (@traderview2), shared a chart suggesting that the XRP/ETH pair could soon retest a key resistance at 0.0012—a level that has historically led to gains of over 160% on three separate occasions.

He pointed out that even if XRP’s rally this time is only half that percentage, it would still be enough to surpass Ethereum in market value.

XRP Needs to Break Above $2.70 to Have a Chance to Reverse its Downtrend

So far this year, XRP has outperformed ETH by an impressive 55%, while Ethereum has dropped 42.5% since the start of 2025.

Ethereum appears to be losing favor among investors as it struggles to compete with faster, lower-cost networks like Solana (SOL) and Sui (SUI), which have gained traction for their efficiency.

Meanwhile, Ripple’s outlook has improved under the Trump administration, as pro-crypto policies could provide a regulatory boost for the company.

XRP trading volumes have surged 30% in the past 24 hours, while market sentiment has slightly recovered. The Fear and Greed Index now sits at 22, moving from “Extreme Fear” to “Fear.”

The daily chart indicates that XRP remains in a downtrend, having formed two consecutive lower highs since its March 2 spike. This suggests a bearish short-term outlook unless the price can climb above $2.70 in the coming days.

However, momentum indicators paint a more bullish picture. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has moved above the signal line, while the MACD histogram is showing steadily increasing positive momentum.
