Catherine Coley, former Head of XRP Institutional Liquidity at Ripple, a fintech company, appointed as CEO of Binance.US, an American branch of major cryptocurrency exchange Binance.

“Coley will oversee the launch of Binance.US and BAM’s market expansion in North America,” BAM Trading Services, the operator of the exchange, announced today.

According to the company, Coley joined Ripple in 2017 and “has played an integral role in the evolution of trading infrastructure and market development.”

“Her previous roles include institutional FX at Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong and London, international payments and global treasury management for start-ups at Silicon Valley Bank,” BAM said.

As reported, major cryptocurrency exchange Binance will enter the U.S. market via partnership with a local company, BAM Trading Services. Binance itself does not comment on the ownership of the company. Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao, only confirmed recently that he has no “legal titles” or an “operational role” there.

Binance.US is estimated to be launched in the coming months. In either case, current American users of Binance.com, the main trading platform of Binance, will not be able to use this platform starting September 12.

Also, one of the main Binance.US-related questions discussed in the cryptoverse is whether the new exchange will list Binance Coin, the native token of Binance.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Cryptonews.com, Ted Lin, Chief Growth Officer of the company, said that Binance aims to have at least two fiat to crypto exchanges in every continent.
