The Red Bull Formula 1 team has dropped an exclusive NFT collection on the Sui blockchain after a dominant performance in the 2023 Formula 1 season.

The team announced in a press release Friday that fans would be able to mint the collectibles free of charge exclusively on Sui, the team’s official blockchain partner, for a limited time.

The NFT drop comes on the heels of Oracle Red Bull Racing’s hugely successful year, marked by a range of unprecedented achievements. The team set a record for the highest number of championship points in a single season, led the most laps, achieved the Team’s inaugural one-two individual driver finish, and witnessed driver Max Verstappen securing the highest points tally ever in a single Formula 1 season.

Verstappen finished with a remarkable 575 points, more than double that of his teammate Sergio Perez’s 285.

“After such an incredible and record-breaking season, we are excited to be working in close collaboration with our partners Sui and Bybit to offer fans a unique part of the Team’s history, with our celebratory digital memorabilia,” said Dan Mitchell, Senior Marketing Manager of Oracle Red Bull Racing. “It is important that we continue to engage and connect with fans around the world in new and innovative ways, and this collaboration takes this to the next level: giving our fans access to digital collectibles and virtual experiences.”

The collectibles will showcase distinctive artwork crafted by Automobilist, an award-winning design studio that creates artistic designs centered around various aspects of motorsport.

Red Bull’s NFT collection will be minted on Sui, the blockchain developed by Mysten Labs. This collaboration stems from a partnership established earlier in the year between the Formula 1 racing team and Mysten Labs.

“The growth of web3 has changed how teams like Oracle Red Bull Racing connect with their fans,” said Evan Cheng, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mysten Labs. “By minting these commemorative collectibles through zkLogin, not only can fans feel like they now own a piece of the team’s historic and record-breaking season, but Oracle Red Bull Racing can also directly offer their loyal fans exclusive rewards for supporting the team, all without the need to create a crypto wallet or loading it with funds via a third party.”

Fans will be able to acquire the NFTs for free from December 15 to December 19 with a Sui innovation that enables users to securely access Web3 experiences using their current social media credentials. The release also noted that users minting the collectibles during this period will incur zero gas fees.
