It’s quite a mixed bag of NFT news on January 17, 2024.

NFT sales volume is down for the first time in days, though not by a lot (in the volatile crypto context). It dropped nearly 4.7% over the past 24 hours.

The number of buyers is up 3%, and the number of sellers is down 3%.

There were 585,937 transactions over the past day by the time of writing. This is a 70% increase.

The best performer among the top 10 collections by sales volume is the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club. It took the first place by far, with a rise of 131%. The second-placed Open Solmap is up 41%.

Today in NFT news, read about the collaboration between Rarible and Other Page, Mercedes-Benz’s new NFT feature, and the NHL champions’ exclusive collection.

Rarible NFT News: Partnership with Other Page Announced

The Rarible NFT marketplace has partnered with Other Page to introduce white-labeled avatar profile experiences for their joint clients.

“We share a vision where marketplaces + social profiles, lore, game data, achievements & reputation are fully integrated,” Other Page said.

Other Page is a Web3 native profile page that lets its users put game stats, inventory, lore, and network in a single shareable URL, their website says.

On January 11, the team behind it announced that the new Other Page website was live.

They updated the site to feature member pages but also “to prepare for some exciting innovations in 2024,” the team revealed.

Mercedes-Benz Reveals MBUX Collectibles Digital Gallery Feature

Luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz has announced its latest update to the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Among other features, it revealed the MBUX Collectibles digital gallery app that enables its users to create galleries and browse brand-related NFTs.

According to the website, MBUX Collectibles is Mercedes-Benz’s first in-car app to showcase digital art and collectibles based on NFTs.

The app enables the creation of a private art gallery by connecting an NFT wallet to the user interface. Furthermore, users can browse a digital art exhibition curated by the company.

At CES, the company also showcased its NFT collections from Mercedes-Benz NXT within the app. “The collection Mercedes-Benz NXT Icons Era 1 ‘Luxury’ is the first in a series of seven exploring the rich Mercedes-Benz design heritage,” it said.

At CES, visitors could get a sneak peek of the yet-to-be-launched Era 2 ‘Technology’. Also, they got a first glimpse of the Mercedes-Benz NXT Superdackel NFT. A limited edition of 1,000 Superdackel NFTs will drop soon, the company said.

NHL Champions to Launch Exclusive NFT Collection on ThetaDrop

The National Hockey League 2023 Champions, The Vegas Golden Knights, has announced its collaboration with the video, AI, and entertainment blockchain Theta Labs “to unlock special experiences for fans.”

Per the announcement, this collaboration focuses on exclusive fan experiences, global audience expansion, and inventive monetization strategies.

The Golden Knights will launch an exclusive series of NFTs on ThetaDrop NFT marketplace. During select home games, fans – online and in person – will have the opportunity to claim exclusive NFTs for free in the midst of the match.

The announcement stated that these NFTs will unlock access to tickets for Knights games, autographed memorabilia, and VIP moments, including photo opportunities on the ice and chances to join press conferences.

Seventy-five guests will gain access to a private viewing lounge “spanning 18,000 square feet with a vantage point over the arena and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the Vegas strip.”

The partners said that the merger of NFTs and exclusive experiences enhances fan engagement and creates new revenue streams.
