Litecoin Price Primed for Major Bullish Breakout – New All-Time Highs Coming?

The Litecoin (LTC) price looks primed for a major bullish breakout that could see it rocket 3x higher in the coming year, making it a strong candidate for the best crypto to buy now.

Litecoin was last trading around $135 per coin, as it continues to probe its late-2024/early-2025 highs in the $140 area.

However, risks seem very much in favor of a major bullish breakout, thanks to bullish technicals and the best fundamental backdrop for the crypto since the 2021 bull market.

The Litecoin price saw a strong bounce from its 200DMA in early February, a signal that the bulls remain very much in control of this market in the medium term.

And pressure appears to be building for a breakout above $140 resistance, with the Litecoin price (excluding its 3rd February flash crash lows) consistently posting higher lows in recent months.

All said, the Litecoin price appears to have formed an ascending triangle structure, and these tend to form ahead of major bullish price breakouts.

Were a convincing breakout to the upside occur in the weeks/months ahead, the obvious targets on the chart would be for a retest of the late-2021 highs near $300 and the 2021 record highs at $413.

Strong Fundamentals Support Case For Massive Litecoin Price Rally

2025 is unlikely to bring the sort of easy financial conditions that powered the 2021 altcoin rally.

However, 2025 could still be a massively bullish year for the broader crypto space, with the Trump administration’s arrival in the White House a major bullish turning point for the industry.

The administration is stacked head to toe with crypto advocates and HODLers and the new SEC is gearing up to relax regulations on the crypto industry.

That is accelerating global institutional, nation-state and ground-up adoption of cryptocurrencies.

And if the US does establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve, all major cryptos, including Litecoin, could experience a major price run-up.

More specifically for Litecoin, LTC is almost certain to land a US spot ETFs this year. Social media reports on Friday suggested Canary’s Litecoin ETF has already got its ticker listed at the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation.

ETF approval would open the door to a wave of new capital inflows into Litecoin. As one of the oldest cryptos with a strong reputation for security, reliability and decentralization, as well as impressive value retention over the years, Litecoin could establish significant demand.

And sophisticated traders appear to be positioning for an upside breakout.

The outstanding balance of Litecoin futures contracts betting on future price movements recently neared $900 million, per coinglass.

That’s barely 10% away from its 2021 peak, when the Litecoin price was as much as 4x higher than its current levels.

ATHs Coming?

Despite its impressive fundamentals, Litecoin has struggled to retain the limelight over the years.

But the strong growth of Bitcoin in recent years shows that the market puts a lot of value on crypto’s core principle of decentralization and security.

Litecoin has that in spades, and an institutional adoption surge in 2025 could reignite the narrative that Litecoin is set to be the “digital silver to Bitcoin’s gold”.

After failing to substantially break above its 2017 record highs in 2021, 2025 could be the year that Litecoin enjoys a real bullish phase.

$1000 remains well within the realms of possibility over the coming years.
