The billionaire entrepreneur will reportedly refocus on running his multiple businesses.

A February Politico report cited an anonymous insider who claimed that the controversial tech billionaire was “here to stay” despite widespread public scrutiny.

As a special government employee, Musk is only allowed to work 130 days out of 365, with the South African-born engineer expected to reach that limit either next month or June.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took to X Wednesday to deny the claims, calling the scoop “garbage.”

“Elon Musk and President Trump have both *publicly* stated that Elon will depart from public service as a special government employee when his incredible work at DOGE is complete,” she wrote.

While the status of Elon Musk’s government position remains unclear, his involvement with the Trump administration has already created consequences for his businesses.
