The South Korean budget airline and Korean Air affiliate Jin Air has teamed up with blockchain-powered travel and rewards points firm Mil.k to launch a crypto-powered promotional offer for flight tickets.

Per Money Today, holders of the Mil.k Wallet platform’s Mil.k Coin will be able to buy Jin Air’s Genie Coupon vouchers, redeemable against flights, until September 30. They can then use these vouchers to pay for flights up to October 11, which includes the Chuseok Harvest Moon Festival holiday period, when the entire nation will enjoy at least three days off work and school.

Mil.k Wallet holders will be able to buy vouchers worth around USD 34 for just under USD 12 worth of Mil.k Coin.

The token is traded on a number of exchanges and the Jin Air deal is Mil.k’s latest partnership coup this year. Earlier in 2020, Mil.k sealed a deal with blockchain-keen travel unicorn Yanolja – which allows Mil.k token holders to trade their coins for Yanolja’s own blockchain-powered digital asset, Yanolja Coin.

Mil.k tokens can be earned as rewards for wallet holders who use partner firms. The company also has deals in place with the vehicle-share platform Delivery Car and the Seoul Airport Limousine coach services, which transports passengers to and from the capital’s biggest airports to most parts of the city and the surrounding areas.

Jin Air, meanwhile, is the budget air arm of the national carrier, Korean Air, and part of the Hanjin Group conglomerate. It was launched in 2008 and mainly serves domestic locations, although it also operates flights to major Asian tourist destinations.
