Bitcoin (BTC/USD) is sitting at $103,790 as institutional investors reposition after a wild Q1 where BTC dropped 12%. Recent 13-F SEC filings show major hedge funds and asset managers are rotating out of select spot BTC ETFs.

Brevan Howard reduced its iShares Bitcoin Trust holdings by 15.6%, Millennium Management cut 41% and exited the Invesco Galaxy ETF.

Additional investment is coming in as Brown University disclosed a $4.9 million stake in a Bitcoin ETF – its first foray into digital assets – while Mubadala, a UAE sovereign wealth fund, increased its exposure to $409 million. Wisconsin’s state investment board sold its entire $6 million position.

This is rebalance exhibits cautious optimism: long term conviction is strong but short term futures premiums and reduced arbitrage is causing tactical exits.

Eric Trump Says Global Bitcoin Hoarding

At Consensus 2025, Eric Trump said there’s a “global rush” to buy Bitcoin. In conversation with Hut 8 CEO Asher Genoot, Trump said sovereign wealth funds, billionaires and public companies are hoarding BTC.

Trump’s mining firm American Bitcoin is preparing for a Nasdaq listing through a merger with Gryphon Digital Mining.

He said there are two races in the Bitcoin economy: one for mining infrastructure and one for asset accumulation – led by Michael Saylor. While political, Trump’s comments reinforce the growing strategic interest in Bitcoin from the top of the financial pyramid.

Méliuz Becomes Brazil’s First Bitcoin Treasury Firm

Brazilian fintech Méliuz has become the country’s first publicly listed company to hold Bitcoin in its treasury. Shareholders approved the purchase of 274.52 BTC for $28.4 million, bringing its total holdings to 320.3 BTC – now worth over $33 million.

Méliuz’s stock has risen 117% since it bought its first Bitcoin in March. Bitcoin is now a key part of the company’s growth strategy in emerging markets.

Chairman Israel Salmen said Bitcoin isn’t just a hedge – it’s now a core part of the business model.

Bitcoin price prediction remains neutral as BTC is consolidating below $104,476 after re-taking the 50-EMA at $103,281. A bullish MACD crossover and rising histogram support the case but upper wicks at resistance suggest some exhaustion.
