In a recent Cryptonews.com interview, Azeem Khan, Co-Founder of Morph, shared insights on his journey in Web3, the rise of crypto donations, and the launch of Morph, an innovative Layer 2 blockchain focused on fostering Web3’s future applications.

Here’s a look into how Khan’s philanthropic mindset and deep-rooted blockchain expertise are shaping the industry.

Empowering Impact Through Crypto and Philanthropy

Khan’s drive for social good runs deep, rooted in a childhood where he witnessed the global economic disparity firsthand. Khan explained, “I didn’t grow up wealthy, and seeing the realities in Pakistan during family visits shaped my desire to make a difference.”

His career trajectory has reflected this mission, from raising over $60 million at Gitcoin to his current work with the UNICEF Crypto Fund and Mercy Corp, where he’s raising funds for Gaza.

Khan credits blockchain for simplifying global donations. “Transferring funds with crypto is three clicks, while traditional methods like Western Union are not only slower but exploitative,” he noted, adding that stablecoins provide a frictionless solution to such challenges.

For Khan, crypto donations are not just a moral imperative but a way to economically empower underserved communities:

“If you can onboard millions to the financial system, the economic benefit is massive.”

Azeem Khan on Bridging Builders and Resources: The Idea Behind Morph

As Web3 adoption grows, Khan’s new venture, Morph, aims to be a solution for developers and organizations facing distribution and go-to-market (GTM) challenges. Incubated by Singapore-based BitGet, Morph is an EVM Layer-2 blockchain designed to support builders across finance, gaming, and social media.

Khan highlighted Morph’s vision to alleviate common obstacles for developers. “With BitGet’s 40 million users, we have a strong GTM foundation, so developers can focus on building rather than worrying about liquidity and user acquisition,” he said.

He aims to support developers by centralizing resources like venture capital, distribution channels, and exchange alliances. “We want builders to build without stressing over all the nuanced, logistical headaches.”

The Killer App and Long-Term Vision for Web3

When asked about the “killer app” that could bring crypto into mainstream usage, Khan emphasized the power of stablecoins as an already-existing solution. However, he also acknowledged that further blockchain infrastructure development is essential for supporting mass adoption.

“If everyone who plays Call of Duty started using a blockchain game tomorrow, it would break that blockchain,” he explained, noting the need for a more robust and scalable infrastructure.

While Khan supports the drive for a single consumer app, he believes the true transformation lies in a collective approach. “We need to build more than just our own piece of the pie,” he said, calling for an industry-wide collaboration. For him, the end goal is clear:

“Instead of a zero-sum game, let’s make the pie bigger. If Morph succeeds, I want it to help lift the entire industry.”

Onboarding and Next Steps

With Morph’s mainnet launch around the corner, Khan is laser-focused on meeting with individual developers to fuel Morph’s ecosystem growth.

“I make time for every builder who reaches out,” he said, inspired by the mentorship he received in his career, adding that “doing things that don’t scale, in order to scale,” remains at the core of his philosophy.

From advancing crypto-driven philanthropy to launching an L2 blockchain with an inclusive vision, Azeem Khan is not only shaping the future of Web3 but proving that blockchain can indeed be a force for good.
