MetaMask, a prominent cryptocurrency software wallet, has announced its expansion into six countries through new partnerships.

The Web3 wallet provider has collaborated with VietQR and Mobile Money in Vietnam, GCash in the Philippines, QRIS in Indonesia, Thai QR in Thailand, Vodafone Cash in Egypt, and Webpay in Chile, the platform said in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter).

The partnerships aim to provide users with localized payment options and enhance MetaMask’s global presence.

In addition to these new ventures, MetaMask has also extended its reach to Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea by teaming up with Unlimit, a borderless payment solution, and TransFi.

These alliances enable MetaMask to offer enhanced support for local transfers in these regions.

The Buy aggregator feature, accessible through various MetaMask platforms such as the mobile app and browser extension, as well as within the MetaMask Portfolio, allows users to explore and access different buying options seamlessly.

“Web3 is global, and MetaMask has been on a mission to partner with providers worldwide to help onboard anyone—regardless of where they are—to web3,” Metamask wrote.

The move to expand its services comes as MetaMask has recently encountered transaction issues for mobile users on version 7.9.0.

The wallet provider swiftly addressed the bug and released a fix on November 15. It also urged mobile users to update their apps to the latest version, 7.10.0, as a precautionary measure.

With its latest partnerships and ongoing efforts to improve user experience, MetaMask solidifies its position as a leading cryptocurrency wallet provider, catering to users around the world.

MetaMask Launches Phishing Attack Alert Feature

As reported, MetaMask has teamed up with security firm Blockaid to introduce a new feature aimed at bolstering user security.

MetaMask desktop users now have the option to opt-in to the new security feature by enabling the MetaMask experimental setting and adding the Privacy Preserving Offline Module (PPOM).

Developed by MetaMask, PPOM serves as an offline security engine that simulates and validates transactions and signatures before signing them.

It achieves this by utilizing node RPC communication requests to a configured node provider, ensuring that no sensitive data is sent to external servers.

MetaMask is a popular cryptocurrency software wallet and browser extension that allows users to interact with blockchain-based applications (dApps) and securely manage their digital assets.

It primarily supports the Ethereum blockchain and its related tokens but has also expanded to support other networks like Binance Smart Chain and Polygon.
