Lisk, an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain, has announced a strategic partnership with Web3 infrastructure firm Binary Holdings to drive adoption of decentralized applications across Southeast Asia.

The collaboration will integrate blockchain-powered services directly into major regional telecom platforms to make Web3 more accessible to millions of users.

Binary Holdings has an established footprint in Indonesia and the Philippines, reaching over 160 million users. The partnership allows Lisk to embed scalable consumer-facing dApps within telco ecosystems.

Lisk Expands to Southeast Asia, Embeds Blockchain Services in Telecom Apps

According to the announcement, the companies will focus on simplifying blockchain access through mobile platforms already used for phone and internet payments, removing friction from the onboarding process.

In a statement shared with Cryptonews, the company said, “This marks a significant step in Lisk’s expansion into Southeast Asia.”

Lisk COO Dominic Schwenter emphasized the move’s impact, stating,

“Our collaboration with The Binary Holdings opens new doors for innovators and developers to deliver real-world blockchain applications where they can make the greatest impact.”

As part of the integration, users can access Lisk’s dApps directly from “OneWave,” Binary Holdings’ decentralized app platform embedded within telco apps.

This approach allows users to use blockchain features in a familiar environment, supporting more intuitive interactions with decentralized finance (DeFi) and other Web3 services.

Schwenter noted that Lisk is focused on high-growth regions where blockchain can offer practical benefits, particularly in areas where traditional financial systems are under strain.

“Web3 adoption is strongest in countries with failing traditional financial systems,” he said.

The partnership will also allow users to earn and spend BNRY tokens, Binary Holdings’ native cryptocurrency, within the telco ecosystem. BNRY can be used for everyday services such as mobile data, making blockchain rewards tangible for users.

“By integrating Lisk’s dApps into telco apps, we’re delivering blockchain’s power straight into people’s pockets, helping to overcome traditional adoption barriers and making Web3 an intuitive part of daily life,” said Manit Parikh, CEO at The Binary Holdings.

Lisk DAO Season 1 Launches, Strengthens Momentum After Asia Expansion Push

As Lisk deepens its presence in Asia through its partnership with Binary Holdings, the Ethereum Layer 2 project is accelerating momentum on-chain with the launch of Lisk DAO Season 1, a builder-first initiative designed to fuel long-term ecosystem growth.

The event, themed “A Foundation for Real-World Acceleration,” will run until June 11 and is built around five measurable goals, including boosting TVL, supporting builders, improving cross-chain activity, and preparing for the upcoming LSK token burn vote.

This event follows a flurry of ecosystem developments. In March, UTU Protocol deployed its trust infrastructure on Lisk, enhancing dApp reputation systems.

Meanwhile, the stablecoin payment platform Swypt was integrated with Lisk to enable seamless USDT access for users across Africa, bridging fiat and crypto for underserved markets.

Earlier this year, Lisk also concluded its Season 1 airdrop campaign, onboarding over 277,000 new accounts and recording more than 48 million transactions, pushing TVL past $200M.

The number of deployed smart contracts surged to 17,803, signaling rapid adoption across real-world applications.

A progress report evaluating DAO Season 1’s outcomes is expected in May. It will offer insights into Lisk’s evolving governance and on-chain growth strategy.

With governance now live and new integrations rolling out, Lisk’s Asia expansion appears to be just the beginning of a broader growth arc.
