Bitcoin Above USD 10K Again, Outperformed by Ether, EOS and Others

The crypto market is in green today – bitcoin is back above the USD 10,000 level, while other major coins outperform the most popular cryptocurrency and only nine tokens from the top 100 are in red now.

At pixel time (04:36 UTC), bitcoin trades at c. USD 10,105 and is up by almost 5% in the past 24 hours and by more than 3% in the past week.

However, this time, bitcoin is among major coins that are registering the smallest gains, as ether jumped by almost 9% and EOS is up by 12%.

The total market capitalization increased by 5.3%, to USD 279 billion, while bitcoin dominance, or the percentage of the whole market capitalization, decreased slightly and is still below 65%.

Among the smaller capitalization coins from the top 100, waltonchain, nexo, qtum, metaverse etp are the best performers today, registering 14%-25% gains.

As reported yesterday, market players indicate higher interest in bitcoin, while the amount of bitcoin untouched for at least 5 years is at an all-time high. Moreover, Dan Morehead, founder and CEO of Pantera Capital, said that if bitcoin stays on past trend lines it could hit USD 42,000 by year’s end and USD 356,000 a couple years after that.
