Justin Sun

Justin Sun (born in 1990) is a Chinese blockchain entrepreneur, best known for serving as the founder and CEO of the TRON (TRX) project and platform. His pet project was launched in September 2017, propelling Justin Sun to the ranks of crypto celebrities featured on Forbes lists and purportedly enjoying the support of Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba.

Sun is the founder of the Singapore based non-profit organization called the Tron Foundation. Prior to this, Justin Sun worked as the chief representative and advisor to Ripple in the China region. Sun also founded PEIWO mobile social network app, which is sometimes described as the Chinese Snapchat. In 2018, Sun managed the purchase of the BitTorrent file sharing platform for some USD 140 million, putting him at the helm of the BitTorrent cryptocurrency project.

Association with Ripple is not the only thins linking Sun with Vitalik Buterin, another crypto celebrity and the co-founder of Ethereum. The two have had several well-publicized online clashes ranging from accusations of plagiarism to the disagreements on the future of blockchain technology.
