Crypto is going into the mainstream entertainment industry with another possible hit: a satirical film called “Buy the Dip” based on crypto, and will serve as a television pilot for “a series of short comedies and sketches on current trends and technology,” says director Sam Lucas Smith.

According to him, the film is a funny version of the dark anthological series Black Mirror, that’s commenting on a technologically advanced, twisted society – though equally cynical. Another inspiration is the American comedy Silicon Valley.

The trailer is available to watch on Youtube, although the movie is not yet out. The topics range from bad investment advice to Lambos – all the good stuff that resonates with every aficionado out there.

If Smith manages to secure funding, he’d also be interested in turning this into a mini series, although he is not yet sure what direction the series would go in. He is also considering crowdfunding the series with crypto, making it the first completely crypto funded production.

Although many “geeky” tv shows have touched on crypto in some way or another, this would be the first show to be completely devoted to the up and coming industry. This is not the completely first movie to be based on the topic in any way, however: “No Postage Necessary” was dubbed “Bitcoin blockbuster” and is to be distributed using blockchain.
