Vào hôm 10-10, Ủy ban Giao dịch và Chứng khoán Mỹ (SEC) đã truy tố nhà tạo lập thị trường Cumberland vì hoạt động mà không đăng ký làm đơn vị kinh doanh trong các giao dịch chứng khoán vượt quá 2 tỷ USD.<\/p>

Theo SEC, từ tháng 3\/2018 đến nay, Cumberland đã tham gia vào các hoạt động mua bán tài sản tiền điện tử<\/a> được coi là chứng khoán cho các tài khoản không được đăng ký. Đây được coi như mảng kinh doanh thường xuyên của nhà tạo lập thị trường này.<\/p>

SEC cho rằng, Cumberland đã tiến hành các giao dịch tức thời thông qua điện thoại và nền tảng Marea. Thêm vào đó, nó cũng thường xuyên giao dịch tài sản tiền điện tử trên các sàn giao dịch bên ngoài như hợp đồng đầu tư.<\/p>

Cụ thể hơn, Cumberland bị tình nghi thực hiện nhiều giao dịch tiền điện tử<\/a> được coi là hợp đồng đầu tư, hay còn có thể nói là chứng khoán. Những tài sản mà SEC đề cập tới có thể kể đến như POL (MATIC), SOL, FIL, ALGO và ATOM.<\/p>

Cumberland thách thức các hành động của SEC<\/h2><\/span>

Cumberland đã phản hồi<\/a> với cáo trạng của SEC bằng việc chi trích cách tiếp cận cứng nhắc của cơ quan này, đồng thời khẳng định rằng nó đã trở thành mục tiêu mới nhất trong nỗ lực bóp nghẹt sự đổi mới. Công ty cũng bày tỏ sự không hài lòng với việc SEC coi một vài loại tiền điện tử là chứng khoán.<\/p>

“Chúng tôi sẽ đã tương tác trong 5 năm liền với SEC về vấn đề này. Về phần mình, chúng tôi đã chia sẻ hàng chục tài liệu với nhiều tuyên bố và tóm tắt được lấy từ các tư liệu hàng nghìn trang, cùng với đó là cho phép cán bộ cấp cao của mình được phỏng vấn nhiều giờ. Những lời phàn nàn trong ngày hôm nay là lần đầu tiên SEC chỉ ra các giao dịch cụ thể nào có vấn đề”, tuyên bố của Cumberland cho hay.<\/p>
