Responsible Data Summit
Data, Law, and Trust in the Digital Economy w/ Chris Riley
In this video from the Responsible Data Summit, Chris Riley, Director of Public Policy at Mozilla, talks about Mozilla's work to bridge data, law, and trust in the digital economy.
In his view, there is no magic blockchain or digital identity solution to fix the current data economy, as well as there are no universally adopted best practices. As such, the path towards a more responsible data economy starts with better privacy and digital economy laws.
"We need to build a new responsible data ecosystem, and the key part of the formula for getting there is going to be the design, adoption, and ongoing enforcement of privacy and data protection laws," he adds.
The speech was recorded on August 2, 2020.
