Bitcoin SV is a fork of Bitcoin Cash, with the SV in its title standing for “Satoshi’s Vision”. In this manner, Bitcoin SV bills itself as being the true successor to the original Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision presented in Bitcoin’s well-known initial whitepaper.
This aim should come as little surprise as Bitcoin SV’s past is closely tied to the history of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. First, there came Bitcoin Cash as a spin-off of Bitcoin in 2017. In late 2018, Bitcoin Cash Hash War has given birth to Bitcoin SV which forked from the Bitcoin Cash’s blockchain. In 2019, Bitcoin SV faced several delistings from the cryptocurrency exchanges.
Bitcoin SV’s mission statement revolves around enabling better scaling performance paired with the unlimited block sizes. At the same time, the currency goes for supporting more stable and secure instant transactions in its bid to become a global mainstream payment platform.
