The Solana community gathered in Istanbul for Solana Crossroads 2025, a two-day event featuring technical deep dives, product showcases, and forward-looking discussions.

Building on the success of previous editions, the conference highlighted the latest developments in infrastructure, stablecoins, decentralized applications, and real-world asset tokenization across the Solana ecosystem.

Infrastructure and MEV Discussions Take Center Stage

George Harrap, Co-Founder of Step Finance, opened the event by emphasizing the community-driven origins of Crossroads and the goal of accelerating Solana’s ecosystem growth. One of the day’s technical highlights was a panel discussion on MEV (maximal extractable value) challenges. Experts from Jito Labs, DFlow, Temporal, and Paladin stressed the complexity of mitigating MEV on Solana, calling for solutions across both infrastructure and application layers.

Meanwhile, Austin Federa from DoubleZero emphasized the need for dedicated private fiber networks to scale Solana’s performance to 250,000 TPS and beyond, pointing to public internet limitations as a bottleneck for future growth.

User Experience and Stablecoin Innovation

Jess Houlgrave, CEO of Renown, addressed Solana’s onboarding challenges, presenting AppKit and WalletKit as tools designed to simplify user access to blockchain applications through email or social login integrations.

A panel moderated by Stefan Rust from Truflation discussed stablecoin adoption strategies, with insights from Huma Finance, KAST, Agora, and Axia8 Ventures. Speakers stressed the importance of instant settlement, global liquidity, and usability improvements to drive stablecoin use cases across emerging markets.

Product Launches and Ecosystem Updates

Several projects leveraged Crossroads 2025 to announce major milestones:

• Huma Finance surpassed $4 billion in transaction volume following the launch of its updated platform on Solana.

• Fragmetric unveiled plans to launch $fragBTC, a yield-bearing staked Bitcoin asset on Solana, scheduled for May 1.
  
• CUDIS, a Web3 wellness platform, celebrated its one-year anniversary with expansion plans for tokenized health and longevity programs.
  
• UpRock launched Prism, a decentralized AI-scale data crawling and performance monitoring tool leveraging its global mobile network.

On the second day, conversations shifted to onboarding new users, media dynamics in Web3, and the expansion of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).

Speakers from UpRock, Solana Allstars, and Kyzzen shared insights on improving user experience and community building. Finn Miller (SolanaFloor) and Jack Kubinec (Blockworks) discussed how the “attention economy” is reshaping crypto content strategies, with a focus on balancing journalistic integrity and user engagement.

Meanwhile, panels featuring Uranium Digital, Agridex, and ORO Labs examined how real-world asset tokenization on Solana could unlock new forms of value.

Staking, Branding, and Future Developments

Brian Smith from the Jito Foundation shared an update on evolving staking opportunities, noting increased volatility in staking yields due to compressed transaction fees and changing inflation structures.

Ansem Zion (Bullpen) discussed brand-building strategies in Web3, warning of reputational risks associated with unchecked promotion. Huma Finance’s Erbil Karaman also detailed how stablecoin liquidity gaps in payment systems present opportunities for blockchain solutions.

Finally, George Harrap (Step Finance) and Civic’s Esco Marian explored the importance of active user engagement and bridging Web2 and Web3 identity solutions.
