Het in Vancouver, Canada gevestigde grote blockchain-bedrijf Blockstream<\/strong> zei<\/a> dat het een open-source hardwareportefeuille op batterijen heeft gelanceerd voor opslag van bitcoin (BTC)<\/a> en digitale activa uitgegeven op het Liquid<\/a> Network, inclusief tokens zoals de stablecoin tether (USDT)<\/a>.<\/p>

De portemonnee heet Blockstream Jade. Geleid door de Britse Bitcoin OG Adam Back, een man waarvan sommige internettheoretici vermoeden dat hij de ‘echte’ Satoshi Nakamoto is, exploiteert het bedrijf momenteel de Blockstream
Green<\/a> crypto wallet.<\/p>

“Met onze eigen hardware wallet kunnen we geavanceerde hardware wallet features sneller uitrollen”, aldus Back.<\/p><\/blockquote>

En het Canadese bedrijf verklaarde dat zijn nieuwe portemonnee van $39,99 in eerste instantie alleen Blockstream Green-ondersteuning voor Android zou bieden, maar beweerde dat desktopondersteuning ‘om de hoek’ lag, met iOS-ondersteuning die ‘kort daarna’ zou volgen, evenals “de mogelijkheid om de hardware wallet te verbinden via Bluetooth LE.”<\/p>

Het bedrijf zei ook dat het in de loop van 2021 enkele ‘slapende’ functies zal activeren door middel van software-updates.<\/p>

“Een voorbeeld is de camera aan boord. Eenmaal geactiveerd, stelt de camera in combinatie met het kleurenscherm u in staat om transacties volledig via QR-codes te voltooien, zodat u niet eens het risico hoeft te nemen om uw Blockstream Jade via een kabel of Bluetooth met een online apparaat te verbinden,” zei Lawrence Nahum, Chief Architect bij Blockstream.<\/p><\/blockquote>

Het nieuwe apparaat heeft een 1,14-inch IPS LCD-scherm.<\/p>

Ondertussen biedt de nieuwe hardware wallet in combinatie met hun online wallet de multisignature functionaliteit<\/a>.<\/p>
