Bron: een video screenshot.<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>In gesprek met CNBC beschreef Kelly de huidige status van crypto als meer van een commodity dan &#8216;een betaalinstrument&#8217;. <i>&ldquo;There has to be some market&hellip;that it becomes somewhat of a fiat currency in order for us to be comfortable,&rdquo;<\/i> eraan toevoegend: <i>&ldquo;if it goes in that direction, we will move in that direction.&rdquo;<\/i><\/p><p>Kelly is niet uitgebreid ingegaan op wat hij bedoelde met zijn opmerkingen dat &#8220;er een markt moet zijn&#8221; en dat de crypto &#8220;enigszins een fiat-valuta&#8221; moet worden.<\/p><p>Tegen het einde van het interview gaf Kelly echter toe dat Visa als bedrijf niet aan de zijlijn staat als ze zien dat crypto een regulier betaalinstrument wordt: <i>&ldquo;We wanna be in the middle of every payment flow in the world.&rdquo;<\/i><\/p><p>Hoewel Visa zelf nog niet op de crypto-bandwagon is gesprongen, hebben andere bedrijven, zoals <b>Crypto.com<\/b> uit Hong Kong, initiatieven aangekondigd om Visa-kaarten met voorafbetaalde cryptocurrency aan het publiek te verstrekken. Volgens de website van Crypto.com zijn de Visa-kaarten al beschikbaar voor inwoners van Singapore, terwijl het bedrijf zich voorbereidt om de distributie naar meer landen uit te breiden.<\/p><p>Voormalige leidinggevenden bij Visa lijken echter meer enthousiast over crypto dan de huidige CEO.
