Singapore Airlines <\/b>, de nationale luchtvaartmaatschappij van de Zuidoost-Aziatische stadstaat, heeft zojuist een make-over uitgebracht van haar populaire frequent flyer-programma, zo maakte het bedrijf bekend.<\/p>

De oplossing, genaamd KrisPay, is naar verluidt de eerste op blockchain gebaseerde digitale portemonnee voor een loyaliteitsprogramma voor luchtvaartmaatschappijen.<\/p>

Het is ontwikkeld in samenwerking met KPMG <\/b>, een van de Big Four-auditors en technologiebedrijf Microsoft <\/b> om klanten van Singapore Airlines toe te staan \u200b\u200bte betalen met frequent flyer-miles bij het winkelen bij partnerhandelaren in Singapore. Achttien verkopers zijn in eerste instantie een partnerschap aangegaan met het bedrijf om het gebruik van de nieuwe digitale portemonnee mogelijk te maken, vari\u00ebrend van schoonheidssalons tot restaurants en benzinestations, volgens het persbericht.<\/p>

De app is al beschikbaar om te downloaden en werkt door gebruikers die een KrisPay QR-code in de winkel scannen als ze op het punt staan \u200b\u200bom te betalen.<\/p>

Het nieuwe Blockchain-gebaseerde loyaliteitsprogramma werd voor het eerst aangekondigd in februari nadat het bedrijf een succesvolle proof-of-concept-oefening met KPMG en Microsoft had uitgevoerd. Het bedrijf gaf vervolgens aan dat het hun doel was om na verloop van tijd de service verder te ontwikkelen dan Singapore.<\/p>

Eerder dit jaar kondigde de goedkope Noorse luchtvaartmaatschappij aan dat ze ook met blockchain-technologie werken.
