Kalima Blockchain Announces a €100,000 KLX Developer Airdrop

Disclaimer: The text below is a press release that is not part of Cryptonews.com editorial content.

Kalima is launching a Developer Airdrop to incentivize innovation on its high throughput and energy-efficient blockchain. The Developer Airdrop will involve developers engaging in competitive coding for a chance to win rewards in Kalima’s native coin, the KLX.

This airdrop is significantly different from regular airdrops which usually target active crypto users and allocate them free coins for their participation. Instead, the Kalima team opted for a more innovative approach, incentivizing community development through the creation of practical decentralized applications (dApps), hosted on the Kalima Blockchain, leveraging all the exciting features inherent in the blockchain.

How can I participate to the Kalima Airdrop Hackathon ?

Developers wanting to take part in this competition will have to complete the following steps:

  1. Fill out the registration form available here, or on the Kalima website www.kalima.io.
  2. You will then receive an authorization and instructions  to develop on the Kalima Blockchain.
  3. You will find technical documentation to build your application available here.
  4. Visit Kalima’s GitHub to get started with tutorials : https://github.com/Kalima-Systems/Kalima-Tuto
  5. Build a software application/dApp on the Kalima blockchain that fits into one of the following categories :
    • Embedded blockchain project
    • Multichain using Kalima as second layer for Tezos or Lightning Network
    • Smart rewarding systems (e.g., Indoor air quality Smart Rewarding)
    • Auditable Data (i.e., carbon tracking)
    • Physical NFTs
  6. Create a 3-10 minutes-long video tutorial which explains your project and how it works (the goal is for somebody watching the tutorial to be able to understand, replicate and use your dApp).
  7. Upload it on YouTube and insert the YouTube video link in the dedicated registration form.
  8. Submit your project code as a pull request to the Kalima Blockchain Hackathon repository here.

Developers can visit Kalima’s discord in the developers channel for questions, help and support.

What is Kalima ?

Kalima, a layer 1, third generation blockchain, is a fast-growing ecosystem that will enable enterprises, developers, and startups to build the future of Web3 Enterprise and Data Governance applications, notably with IoT (Internet of Things) data, solving real-world problems.

Kalima’s decentralized network of permissioned blockchains (PrivaChains) allows users to independently govern, manage, and monetize data, as well as create tokens for smart-rewarding systems.

Designed as a very modular concept, Kalima allows developers to create decentralized applications (dApps) fit for specific needs, hosted on PrivaChains. From data notarization, to decentralized finance (DeFi), tokenization (NFTs),  data monetization and industrial IoT applications (Digital Twins, Predictive Maintenance, Smart Infrastructure, etc.), Kalima was designed for the creation of dApps, with the objective of generating new business models or improving existing ones.

Kalima’s system has already been chosen by well-established enterprises for implementation in real-world use cases. This success can be attributed to the simplicity and modularity Kalima offers to the developers in these entities.

Kalima Blockchain being offered to the public broadens the horizon in terms of applications for Kalima developers and users.

Participation in the Developer Airdrop

Rewards

The development team has announced that the developer reward token pool for the Developer Airdrop is 400 million KLX, worth €100 000. This amount is allocated proportionally based on the achievements of the top five (5) top participants.

1st place : €35 000 KLX

2nd place : €25 000 KLX

3rd place : €20 000 KLX

4th place : €10 000 KLX

5th place : €10 000 KLX

Subjects

The subjects participants can base their projects on include:

■      Embedded blockchain project

■      Multichain using Kalima as second layer for Tezos or Lightning Network

■      Gaming

■      Micro Payments

■      Smart rewarding systems (e.g., Indoor air quality Smart Rewarding)

■      Auditable Data (i.e., carbon tracking)

■      Physical NFTs

The prize aggregation makes participation worthwhile. Even though the winner has an excellent incentive, others coming in close will also be fairly rewarded for their efforts. Developers will be required to build software applications and decentralized applications (dApps) on the Kalima blockchain and test them for performance for a chance to claim the prize.

These protocols must fit the Developer Airdrop’s  general goals. Developers will have the option of either creating embedded blockchain projects, or building multichain projects using Kalima as the second layer for Tezos or the Lightning Network. Builders can for instance choose to create smart rewarding systems such as indoor air quality smart rewarding systems, or systems aligned with sustainability practices such as carbon measurement, tracking and credentialization.

The Kalima Team will send prospective participants a document detailing the goals of the Developer Airdrop contest and intended outcomes. This document will also provide technical resources for effective development and details on publishing their dApps.
