국내 가상화폐 사기범이 징역 7년형을 선고받았다. 뉴시스<\/a>와 세계 일보<\/a> 보도에 따르면 수원지법이 피해자로부터 30억 원을 가로챈 익명의 30대 A씨에게 이같이 선고했다. <\/p>

A씨는 2020년 1월부터 2023년 2월까지 지인 혹은 모바일 채팅 앱으로 알게 된 30명의 투자자를 속였다. 그는 피해자에게 지갑으로 가상화폐를 입금하도록 설득했다. <\/p>

A씨는 피해자에게 “단기간”에 상당한 수익을 지급하겠다고 약속했다. 그는 곧 원금과 수익을 돌려주겠다고 말했다. 그러나 이같은 약속을 지키지 못하자 투자자들이 불만을 제기했다. <\/p>

법원에 따르면 A씨는 피해자들에게 경찰에 신고하지 말 것을 종용하며 다음과 같이 말했다:<\/p>

“주식 투자로 큰 수익을 벌고 있으며 손실금을 만회해주겠다.<\/i>”<\/p><\/blockquote>

그러나 검찰측에 따르면 A씨는 이미 피해자의 가상 자산을 투자해 큰 손실을 입은 상태였다. <\/p>

이를 만회하기 위해 A씨는 추가 대출을 받아 많은 채무를 지고 있었다. <\/p>

법원은 A씨가 ”약속된 수익 등을 지급할 능력과 의지 모두 없다“라고 결론내렸다. <\/p>

한국에서 채팅 앱은 가상화폐 사기꾼들의 사냥터가 되고 있다. 그들은 카카오톡과 같은 플랫폼에서 “가상화폐 투자 스터디그룹”을 개설하거나 기존의 방에 잠입하는 방식으로 투자자에 접근했다. <\/p>

A씨가 가로챈 가상 자산은 더 이상 복구가 불가능한 상태로 피해자를 보상할 어떠한 수단도 없는 것으로 알려졌다. <\/p>

담당판사는 다음과 같이 판시했다:<\/p>

이번 달 초에 한 70세 남성은 가상화폐 기반 로맨스 스탬 사기 공모 혐의로 수원지법에 의해<\/a> 징역형을 선고받았다. <\/p>

올해 5월에는 암호화폐 기반 “가상 패션 아이템” 마켓플레이스를 운영한 대표와 부대표를 기소<\/a>하기도 했다. 두 임원은 대략 435명의 피해자로부터 4,393억원을 편취한 혐의를 받는다. <\/p>
