많은 시장 참여자들이 예측한 바처럼 미 연준이 기준 금리를 25bp 인상해 22년 만에 최고 수준인 5.25~5.5% 구간으로 올랐다. <\/p>

연준 의장 제롬 파월은 회의 후 기자회견에서 아직 추가 인상 가능성을 열어두고 있다며<\/u><\/a> 미래 미국 경제 지표에 따라 결정될 것이라고 설명했다. <\/p>

대부분의 분석가는 이번 인상이 긴축 사이클의 마지막 인상이 될 것으로 전망한다.<\/p>

키 프라이빗 뱅크(Key Private Bank)의 채권 이사 라지브 샤르마(Rajeev Sharma)는 언론 매체와의 인터뷰에서 “우리의 의견으로, 금리 인상 사이클은 이제 종료했으며 연준은 올해 말까지 금리를 동결할 것”이라고 분석했다. <\/p>

매뉴라이프 투자운용(Manulife Investment Management) 글로벌 수석 경제학자 프란세스 도날드(Frances Donald)는 “연준이 ‘매파적 보류(hawkish hold)’ 상태에 있으며 다음 움직임은 금리 인하가 되겠지만 2023년은 되어야 볼 수 있을 것“이라고 예측했다. <\/p>

이어서 그는 ”파월은 금리 인상 위협을 계속 가할 수박에 없다. 그렇지 않으면 시장이 금리 인하를 선반영하며 다시 인플레이션이 발생할 수 있다”라고 설명했다. <\/p>

미국 물가상승률은 여전히 연준의 목표인 2%를 크게 웃돌며 고용 시장도 탄탄하기 때문에 쉽게 통화 정책을 완화하기 어려운 상황이다. <\/p>

연준이 추가 인상 태도를 고수하며 대다수의 분석가가 올해까지 금리 인상을 기대할 수 없다고 발언하며 연준이 9월에 금리를 인하할 확률이 크게 증가했다.<\/p>
