말레이시아 규제당국은 암호화폐 거래소 후오비 글로벌 유한회사(Huobi Global Limited)가 미신고 영업을 근거로 영업 정지 명령을 내렸다.<\/p>

월요일 기자 회견<\/a>에 의하면 말레이시아 증권 위원회는 ‘거래소(후오비)는 모든 웹사이트와 애플 스토어·구글 플레이에 등록된 모바일 앱을 비활성화해야 한다’고 발표했다.<\/p>

규제당국은 후오비의 위법 행위는 심각한 사안이며 미등록 영업은 ‘2007 자본시장 및 서비스법’ 위반에 해당된다고 전했다.<\/p>

또한 “본 결정은 플랫폼(후오비)의 지방 규제법령 준수에 대한 우려와 투자자들을 보호하기 위한 조치다”라고 덧붙였다.<\/p>

후오비 글로벌 유한회사 CEO 레온 리(Leon Li)에게 ‘거래소 사이트의 비활성화 및 광고 중지 등’의 명령이 내려졌다.<\/p>

규제당국은 “너무 높은 수익률” 제공을 주장하는 플랫폼들을 경계할 것을 당부했다.<\/p>

또한 “무허가 또는 미등록 업체나 개인에 투자하는 투자자들은 사기 등의 범죄에 노출되어 있고 말레이시아 증권법의 보호를 받지 못할 수 있다”고 경고했다.<\/p>

후오비 글로벌 유한회사는 아직까지 입장을 내놓지 않은 모습이다.<\/p>

미국의 계속되는 거래소 단속<\/h2><\/span>

미국 증권 거래 위원회(SEC) 위원장 개리 겐슬러(Gary Gensler)는 암호화폐 거래소들의 등록을 요구했으며 최근 그들(암호화폐 거래소들)은 “문제로 가득 찬” 경향이 있다며 지적했다.<\/p>

샌프란시스코에 본사를 둔 암호화폐 거래소 코인베이스(Coinbase)는 SEC가 암호화폐 거래소와 같은 업체에게 등록할 방법을 제공해주지 않아 법을 준수하지 않고 있다고 맞받아쳤다.<\/p>

코인베이스는 지난 3월 SEC가 5인 위원회(SEC 위원회)에게 코인베이스 제소를 공식적으로 제안할 것이라는 웰스 노티스(Wells notice)를 전달받았다. <\/p>

웰스 노티스는 금융당국이 불법 금융 거래 등 혐의가 있는 개인과 법인에 보내는 사전 통보다. 법적 제재를 앞두고 소명 기회를 부여하려는 목적이다.<\/p>

이에 코인베이스 CLO(최고 법률 책임자) 폴 그레왈(Paul Grewal)은 “우리는 SEC에게 당국의 시각과 증권법이 코인베이스와 우리 산업(암호화폐)에 어떻게 적용될지에 대해 수차례 물었습니다. 대부분 답변을 받지 못했습니다.”라며 영상<\/a>을 통해 SEC의 웰스 노티스에 대한 입장을 밝혔다.<\/p>
