비트다오(BitDAO)의 네이티브 토큰 BIT가 ‘맨틀(Mantle)’로 리브랜딩된다. 이번 결정은 신규 레이어2 메인넷 출시 전에 토큰을 최적화하려는 제안에 대한 투표 진행 결과 확정되었다. <\/p>

정책은 BIP-21 투표에서 다수결의 원칙에 의해 승인되었으며 제안은 결국 “하나의 브랜드, 하나의 토큰”이라는 규칙 아래 비트다오 생태계를 통일하고자 했다. <\/p>

최종 투표 결과<\/u><\/a>에 따르면, 토큰 전환에 2억 3,500만 BIT가 찬성 투표했으며 988 BIT 반대에 투표해 맨틀로의 변환을 확정했다. <\/p>

제안에 따르면, 비트다오 생태계, 거버넌스(비트다오) 및 제품(맨틀)이 ‘맨틀’로 하나로 통합된다. 거버넌스 절차와 회계 관리는 그대로 유지되지만, BIT 보유자는 토큰 변환 과정을 통해 새로운 맨틀 토큰을 보유하게 된다. <\/p>

제안에 따르면 “$BIT 토큰이 거버넌스적 요소로 가치를 인정받아야 할지, 제품적 요소로 인정받아야 할지, 혹은 그 둘의 혼합인지에 관해 정의하기 어려웠다.”<\/p>

비트다오는 2021년에 출시되었으며, 페이스북, 에어비앤비, 링크드인, 스트라이프 등 세계적 벤처에 투자한 것으로 알려진 유명 투자자 피터 틸(Peter Thiel)이 이끈 투자 라운드를 통해 2억 3,000만 달러를 유치했다. <\/p>

한편 맨틀 생태계는 비트다오의 회계를 인수받게 되어 3억 달러에 달하는 USDC\/USDT와 대략 27만 ETH 등 총 25억 달러의 가치를 지닌 비트다오 준비금 등을 받게 된다. <\/p>
