미국 연방수사국 (FBI)는 익명의 블록체인 수사관 ZachXBT가 제보를 통해 260,000 달러 이상의 NFT와 암호화폐를 압수했다.<\/p>

2월 4일에 기관에서 게시한 몰수 문서에 따르면 FBI는 메인주 브런즈윅에 거주하는 체이스 세네칼 (Chase Senecal)로부터 86.5678 ETH (116,433 달러 상당)와 NFT 두 종을 압수했다. NFT 상품으로는 지루한 원숭이들의 요트 클럽 NFT 제 9658 번과 (95,495 달러 상당) 두들 NFT 제 3114 번 (9,361 달러 상당)이 있었다. 기관은 추가로 41,000 달러 상당의 오데마피게 로얄오크 시계를 압수했다.<\/p>

자칭 암호화폐 탐정인 자크XBT (ZachXBT)는 HZ 온라인으로도 알려진 체이스 세네칼에 대한 철저한 조사를 거쳐 압수에 도움을 주었다. 그들은 9월 1일 트윗을 통해 “몇 달 간 그룹을 추적한 후 NFT\/암호화폐 피싱 공격의 주요 가해자 중 한 명을 발견할 수 있게되어 매우 기쁩니다”라고 말했다. <\/p>

이 암호화폐 탐정은 수많은 NFT 해킹 사례들을 추적한 바 있으며, 이번 사건에서는 시계 비용을 지불하는 데 사용된 계정이 해킹과 연결되어 있음을 밝힘으로써 사건을 해결할 수 있었다. FBI는 탐정의 조사 결과를 기록하고 몇 주 후인 2022년 10월 24일 해킹 항목을 압수했다.<\/p>

조사 요약에 따르면 캠 (SIM 스와퍼)은 작년 6월 세네칼에 대한 트위터 패널 접근 권한을 판매했으며 이를 사용하여 트위터 계정에 접근한 후 NFT 보유자를 해킹했다. 세네칼은 그 후 훔친 자금을 사용하여 오데마피케 시계를 구입하였다. 이 시계 구매 시 사용된 계정은 다수의 디스코드 서버 공격과 관련이 있었기에 범인 추적 시에 큰 도움이 되었다. <\/p>

FBI는 해킹 수사 과정에서 자크 XBT의 도움을 공식적으로 인정하지는 않았지만, 탐정의 최근 트위터 게시물을 통해 그의 조사가 사건에 중요한 영향을 끼쳤음을 알 수 있었다. <\/p>
