La testnet <\/strong>pubblica di Ropsten<\/strong>, la testnet proof-of-work (PoW) più longeva di Ethereum<\/strong> (ETH)<\/a>, che consente il test di sviluppo blockchain prima dell’implementazione sulla mainnet, dovrebbe passare attraverso The Merge<\/strong> nel giro di poche ore.<\/p>

Secondo il sito Web di Wen Merge, che stima i prossimi aggiornamenti di Ethereum, la testnet di Ropsten effettuare il merge<\/a> in 6 ore e 34 minuti dal momento in cui scriviamo (10:20 UTC), tuttavia, l’ora esatta cambia costantemente in base all’hashrate, alla media blocktime e altre variabili.<\/p>

Gli sviluppatori hanno selezionato <\/a>un Terminal Total Difficulty (TTD)<\/i> di 500000000000000000 per il Merge Ropsten. Il TTD è una metrica che misura la difficoltà di mining. Quando viene raggiunto il TTD selezionato, le catene si uniranno.<\/p>

Secondo Preston Van Loon, uno sviluppatore principale di Ethereum presso i laboratori prismatici, poiché il merge di Ropsten aiuterà a verificare se i nodi Ethereum gestiti dal software client funzionano correttamente durante la transizione, la testnet è percepita come “un’enorme pietra miliare di test verso l’unione della mainnet di Ethereum entro la fine dell’anno”.<\/p>
