La società di gestione patrimoniale Valkyrie Funds<\/strong> ha depositato presso la SEC<\/strong> <\/a>– Securities and Exchange Commission, la richiesta per un Exchange Traded Fund<\/strong> (ETF) basato su Ethereum.<\/p>

Un ETF- Exchange Traded Fund- è un fondo d’investimento negoziato in borsa che segue da vicino il prezzo dell’asset sottostante, in questo caso Ethereum. Battezzato Valkyrie Ethereum Strategy ETF<\/strong>, mira a catturare l’attenzione crescente intorno ai futures sull’Ether (ETH).<\/p>

Questo nuovo fondo a differenza dei tradizionali veicoli di investimento non investirà direttamente in Ethereum<\/strong>, ma si concentrerà sugli investimenti in contratti futures sull’Ether negoziati in borsa.<\/p>

Valkyrie Funds, nel suo deposito, ha messo in luce i rischi unici<\/strong> legati all’Ether e ai futures correlati. La volatilità e l’imprevedibilità di questi asset sono stati enfatizzati, sottolineando che il valore degli investimenti potrebbe subire variazioni significative e persino arrivare a zero.\n<\/p>

“I futures sull’Ether e l’Ether stesso costituiscono una classe di asset relativamente giovane”, ha dichiarato Valkyrie nel documento. “Sono soggetti a rischi sostanziali e distinti, con una storia caratterizzata da significative fluttuazioni di prezzo. Il valore degli investimenti nel Fondo potrebbe diminuire notevolmente e senza preavviso, persino giungere a zero”.<\/p><\/blockquote>

\nIn un contesto più ampio, l’Europa ha recentemente dato il benvenuto al primo ETF su Bitcoin. Dopo un ritardo di un anno causato dalle condizioni di mercato sfavorevoli, l’ETF è stato infine lanciato dalla Jacobi Asset Management di Londra<\/strong><\/a> e quotato sulla Borsa EuroNext di Amsterdam<\/strong>.<\/p>

Tuttavia, negli Stati Uniti, la crescita dei prodotti simili è stata scoraggiata dalla riluttanza della SEC a sostenere gli ETF<\/strong><\/a>, citando preoccupazioni riguardo alla sorveglianza del mercato e alla manipolazione dello stesso.<\/p>

La mancanza di un ETF diretto su Bitcoin<\/strong><\/a> ha spianato la strada ai prodotti over-the-counter (OTC), come il Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust<\/strong><\/a> (GBTC), meno efficienti e più costosi degli ETF.<\/p>
