Le géant des services financiers Mastercard<\/b> a peut-être laissé la Libra de Facebook<\/b>, mais la société a toujours de grands projets en matière de blockchain et cherche à entrer dans le monde de la traçabilité de la chaîne d’approvisionnement alimentaire via la blockchain. <\/p>

Selon<\/a> un communiqué, Mastercard a déclaré avoir commencé à travailler avec les sociétés blockchain Envisible<\/b> et Topco<\/b>, le plus grand groupe d’achats du secteur de la distribution alimentaire aux États-Unis.<\/p>

Les sociétés ont annoncé qu’elles lanceraient un projet pilote dans les magasins Food City<\/b> participants, dans lesquels les produits de la mer seront suivis à l’aide de la technologie de la blockchain, offrant ainsi une “meilleure visibilité sur le respect de l’environnement et le respect des critères d’approvisionnement pour le saumon, la morue et les crevettes”. Mastercard indique qu’elle fournira au pilote sa propre solution basée sur une chaîne de blocs.<\/p>

Plus tôt en octobre, Topco a rejoint le réseau Food Trust Blockchain Network<\/b> de IBM<\/b>, réseau de la chaîne d’approvisionnement alimentaire. Le réseau cloud basé sur la blockchain offre aux détaillants, aux fournisseurs, aux producteurs et aux fournisseurs de l’industrie alimentaire participants des données provenant de l’ensemble de l’écosystème de l’alimentation pour permettre une traçabilité, une transparence et une efficacité accrues, selon IBM.<\/p>

Mastercard a également affirmé avoir déposé “plus de 100 brevets blockchain” et a déclaré être le “numéro trois mondial des principaux innovateurs en matière de blockchain” – citant des données issu d’un article de 2018<\/a> par la société de propriété intellectuelle IPRdaily.<\/p>

Cette annonce survient peu de temps après un investissement de Mastercard le mois dernier dans la société de technologie financière Plaid<\/b>, un projet que son concurrent Visa<\/b> a également soutenu financièrement.<\/p>
