Le courtier étudie Bitcoin depuis un moment maintenant. Comme le rapportait<\/a> le Financial Times en juillet dernier, l’entreprise avait formé un groupe de travail chargé d’examiner la manière dont la société devrait aborder les cryptomonnaies. Presque un an plus tard, nous voyons leur prochaine étape.<\/p>

La société semble avoir eu du mal avec ses activités de courtage récemment. Les courtiers intermédiaires, qui dépendent traditionnellement des transactions pour les banques, ont vu leurs volumes diminuer après la crise financière et un avertissement sur les bénéfices a effacé de 36% la valeur de marché de TP ICAP en une seule journée l’année dernière, selon Bloomberg. La société a décidé de poursuivre ses projets de cryptographie, ce qui en fait l’une des rares sociétés financières traditionnelles à le faire. Les contrats à terme sur bitcoins sont populaires auprès des grands acteurs du secteur financier, car ils peuvent se familiariser avec l’actif numérique qu’ils souhaitent, tout en évitant les risques potentiels de fraude.<\/p>

Ce nouveau projet sera géré depuis Londres par Simon Forster<\/b> et Duncan Trenholme<\/b>. Selon Foster, la société comprend que les cryptomonnaies pourraient perturber ou affecter d’autres classes d’actifs où elles opèrent, \u00ab\u00a0nous estimons donc qu’il est important d’être informé\u00a0\u00bb. Pendant ce temps, Trenholme a déclaré à Bloomberg que de nombreuses institutions \u00ab\u00a0étudient comment des jetons peuvent légitimement être échangés ou stockés et je m’attendrais à plus de projets sur le marché dans un an ou deux\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>

Pour l’instant, la société travaille avec des contrats à terme réglés en espèces et négociés sur un marché public réglementé géré par CME Group Inc<\/b>. Leurs clients doivent également passer des contrôles d’identité et de lutte contre le blanchiment d’argent.<\/p>

Entre-temps, d’autres grandes institutions financières se sont également lancées dans l’espace cryptographique, telles que le géant américain des fonds communs Fidelity Investments<\/a><\/b>.
