Récemment, Jesse Lund<\/b>, responsable blockchain et cryptomonnaies chez IBM<\/b>, a déclaré qu’il s’attendait à ce que le Bitcoin atteigne un million de dollars un jour<\/a>. John McAfee<\/b> rappelle à la communauté qu’il est le premier à avoir fait cette prédiction et qu’il est le seul à avoir fixé la date de ce prix: d’ici la fin de 2020.<\/p>

«Les gens se rendent compte que Bitcoin vaudra 1 000 000 USD. Mais quand? Un jour. Peut-être 5 ans. Dans une décennie. Je suis le seul à vous donner une date précise: au 31 décembre 2020», a-t-il écrit en réponse à la nouvelle de la prédiction de Lund. Plus tard, il a ensuite tweeté: «Jésus! Les médias frappent encore une fois! «Au 31 décembre 2020», ne doit pas être pris dans le sens d’une date exacte. Soyons clairs à nouveau: je prédis que Bitcoin atteindra 1 000 000 USD avant la fin de 2020. Cela ne veut pas dire que le prix sera atteint à cette date précise».<\/p>

Cela met à jour son pari précédent, fait en juillet 2017, selon lequel le prix du Bitcoin dépasserait 500 000 USD en trois ans. McAfee a déclaré que s’il perdait ce pari, il mangerait son propre pénis en direct à la télévision nationale. Interrogé dans les commentaires sur Twitter, McAfee a confirmé que son pari tenait toujours et que: “je ne perds jamais un pari”.<\/p>

Cependant, il a déjà essayé de revenir un peu en arrière, réalisant peut-être comment sonnait ce pari: «Si le pire arrive et que je perds mon pari Bitcoin (gardez à l’esprit que j’ai promis de manger ma bite. Le fait de la «couper» est une invention des médias), je sous-traiterai probablement la tâche à une équipe de prostituées de Bangkok avec pour instructions de la mener à bien lentement», a-t-il tweeté en décembre de l’année dernière.<\/p>

La parole de McAfee a peut-être plus de poids que prévu car il a annoncé son intention de se présenter à la présidence des États-Unis avec le Libertarian Party<\/i> pour la deuxième fois. Il a également révélé qu’il était poursuivi par l’Internal Revenue Service<\/i> pour «crimes non spécifiés» et qu’il vivait en exil.<\/p>

Et si le candidat extravagant à la présidentielle tente de réaffirmer sa domination en tant que prédicteur de prix le plus pertinent, les prix ne coopèrent pas vraiment. Au moment de la rédaction de cet article, Bitcoin se négocie à 3 839,64 USD, à la suite d’un marché turbulent qui l’a fait bondir à près de 4 200 USD au cours du weekend.<\/p>
