Le projet blockchain Zilliqa<\/b> (ZIL) a lancé son réseau principal, qui a annoncé la première mise en œuvre jamais réussie d’une technologie de scalabilité appelée sharding<\/i> sur une chaîne de blocs.<\/p>

«Aujourd’hui, nous faisons un pas de géant vers notre vision consistant à mettre en place des solutions innovantes alimentées par la blockchain pour résoudre des problèmes concrets», a écrit dans un billet de blog<\/a> le PDG et cofondateur de Zilliqa, Xinshu Dong<\/b>. «Avec ce lancement, Zilliqa est désormais la première plateforme de blockchain publique à mettre en œuvre avec succès le sharding, afin de relever l’un des plus grands défis de l’adoption de la blockchain traditionnelle: la scalabilité».<\/p>

Le lancement du réseau principal de Zilliqa signifie que le sharding est possible dans la réalité. C’est également important pour des projets tels que Ethereum, qui considère le sharding comme l’une des solutions possibles à son débat sur la scalabilité, bien que cela ne soit pas prévu sur le réseau Ethereum avant 2020. Ceci constitue aussi un moyen pour d’autres projets de mettre en œuvre cette solution sans renoncer à la sécurité et à la décentralisation tout en gagnant en scalabilité.<\/p>

Bien que de nombreuses fonctionnalités distinguent Zilliqa de projets similaires, le sharding est de loin le plus important, en tant que première implémentation en direct de la technologie. En règle générale, le sharding est un type de partitionnement de base de données qui sépare de très grandes bases de données en parties plus petites, plus rapides et plus faciles à gérer, appelées fragments de données.<\/p>

Concernant une blockchain, le sharding partage le travail que le réseau doit effectuer en groupes plus petits, appelés fragments. Les participants au réseau (nœuds) établissent ensuite un consensus dans ces groupes plus petits, ce qui rend les transactions plus rapides et moins chères que si elles étaient traitées par l’ensemble du réseau. En réalité, c’est un moyen de répartir la charge de travail de sorte que tous les nœuds ne doivent pas effectuer toutes les tâches, comme cela se produit avec Bitcoin.<\/p>

Toutefois, le token ZIL a fortement chuté après l’annonce du lancement du réseau principal, passant d’environ 0,018 USD avant la nouvelle à 0,017 USD après la nouvelle. Le prix s’est redressé entre-temps, avec une baisse nette d’environ 0,9% au cours des dernières 24 heures (UTC à 14h00). La pièce est actuellement classée 32ème à la capitalisation boursière.<\/p>
