De nombreuses personnes envisagent d’investir dans les cryptoactifs et notamment dans le Bitcoin. Mais du fait du prix unitaire d’un bitcoin (autour de 3300€ au 30 décembre 2018), elles le considèrent comme trop cher et préfèrent acheter d’autres cryptoactifs “moins chers”. Qu’en est-il réellement ? Est-ce plus intéressant d’acquérir d’autres cryptoactifs bon marché en grande quantité ou bien des fractions de bitcoin ?<\/b><\/p>

Le Bitcoin, un actif numérique<\/h3>

Dans le monde de l’investissement traditionnel, il est la plupart du temps impossible d’obtenir une fraction d’une action, d’une obligation ou d’un Louis d’Or. Par exemple, un investisseur qui décide d’investir 100€ dans l’entreprise Ubisoft, dont l’action est aujourd’hui cotée à 71€, devra diminuer son investissement à une seule action ou investir 42€ supplémentaires pour en posséder deux. Ces contraintes définissent l’investissement depuis des siècles et découlent du temps où le monde physique et le papier dominaient l’économie.<\/p>

Le bitcoin, actif numérique par essence, ne connaît pas ces contraintes. Ses caractéristiques et celles de la Blockchain font qu’il est tout à fait possible de posséder et d’échanger des fractions de bitcoins. La plus petite unité dans laquelle le Bitcoin est divisible se nomme le satoshi<\/a>, en hommage au créateur du Bitcoin: Satoshi Nakamoto. Observons les chiffres ci-dessous pour comprendre que le Bitcoin est divisible jusqu’à huit chiffres après la virgule :<\/p>

Avec 1€, on acquiert donc environ 33 000 satoshis, soit 0,00033 bitcoins. Le principe du Bitcoin et de la blockchain ne ferme donc pas la porte aux investisseurs modestes. Bien souvent, c’est le montant minimum des transferts choisi par chaque plateforme d’échange qui définit le plancher d’investissement.<\/p>
