L’exchange majeur et basé aux États-Unis Coinbase<\/a> vient d’annoncer son support pour le nouveau stablecoin USD\/\/Coin émis par Circle<\/b>.<\/p>

Dans son blog, Coinbase dit que c’est la première fois qu’ils offrent un support pour un stablecoin, tout en listant les bénéfices de USDC, en incluant les fonctionnalités améliorées pour envoyer et recevoir des fonds entre les portefeuilles, une utilisation pratique des applications décentralisées (dapps), et une façon plus simple de conserver des actifs qu’avec des dollars physiques.<\/p>

En conférence à Las Vegas dans le cadre du Money 20\/20 mardi, le président et directeur des opérations de Coinbase Asiff Hirji<\/b> a dit que le nouveau stablecoin est « supporté un pour un par le dollar US, et est complètement audité, complètement transparent ».<\/p>

USDC est un token créé sur la blockchain Ethereum, ce qui veut dire qu’il peut être conservé et transféré entre tous les portefeuilles compatibles avec le standard populaire ERC20 d’Ethereum. Le nouveau stablecoin est émis par Circle, la start-up qui a vu sa crédibilité augmenter grâce à des investissements de géants de la finance tels que Goldman Sachs<\/b>.<\/p>

Plus tôt ce mois-ci, l’exchange chinois Huobi a aussi annoncé son support<\/a> pour USDC, avec d’autres stablecoins tels que Paxos Standard (PAX), TrueUSD (TUSD), et Gemini Dollar (GUSD). De plus, l’exchange a récemment annoncé son propre stablecoin HUSD.<\/p>

Pendant longtemps, Tether<\/a> (USDT) a été le stablecoin le plus dominant du marché. Suite à des controverses récentes, il semble qu’il fasse maintenant face à une compétition sérieuse de plusieurs acteurs sur le marché.<\/p>

En grande partie parce qu’il a été incapable de fournir une évidence concluante pour prouver que les Tethers en circulation sont bien supportés par des dollars US conservés dans une réserve, le stablecoin s’est tradé à rabais sur la plupart des exchanges cryptos qui le supportent au cours du mois d’octobre.<\/p>
