S’exprimant au cours d’une conférence blockchain<\/a> au Maroc le week-end dernier, le co-fondateur de Google<\/b> Sergey Brin a exprimé son intérêt pour les cryptomonnaies et la blockchain. Google<\/a> a manqué sa chance d’être un leader dans la blockchain, alors qu’il minait lui-même de l’Ethereum ce qui lui a permis de se faire « quelques centimes ».<\/p>

Brin est actuellement président de la société mère de Google Alphabet<\/b>. Ce week-end, il s’est joint aux chercheurs et aux leaders de la technologie blockchain au Blockchain Summit de Richard Branson, le magnat des affaires anglais.<\/p>

« Je vais être honnête, nous avons probablement déjà échoué à être dans le peloton de tête », a-t-il dit, faisant référence à la blockchain, mais il a ajouté qu’il croyait en cette technologie que la division de recherche semi-secrète de Google est déjà en train d’explorer ».<\/p>

Dans le monde de la blockchain, Google est surtout connu pour avoir interdit les publicités sur les cryptomonnaies. Scott Spencer, directeur des annonces du groupe, a expliqué en mars: « Nous n’avons pas de boule de cristal pour connaître l’avenir des cryptomonnaies, mais nous avons vu assez de préjudices pour les consommateurs ou de préjudices potentiels dans ce secteur pour que nous voulions aborder ça avec beaucoup de prudence ». L’interdiction de Google des publicités pour les cryptomonnaies est intéressé car le moteur de recherche outrepasse son rôle de gardien de l’information.<\/p>

Brin a admis qu’il ne connaissait pas « grand chose » aux cryptomonnaies, mais qu’il avait chez lui un rig de minage amateur. « Il y a un an ou deux, mon fils a insisté pour qu’on ait un ordinateur pour jouer. Je lui ai dit que si on prenait un PC pour jouer, on devrait aussi faire du minage avec. Donc, on mine de l’Ethereum et on gagne quelques centimes. Cela m’a vraiment intéressé et j’ai commencé à m’informer sur la technologie qu’il y avait derrière et j’ai trouvé ça fascinant ».<\/p>

Jensen Huang, le PDG d’Nvidia<\/b>, une société de technologie informatique visuelle américaine, a déclaré en mai « Beaucoup de joueurs, quand ils ne jouent pas, font un peu de minage. La raison pour laquelle ils ont acheté un ordinateur, c’est pour jouer, mais quand ils ne jouent pas – pendant qu’ils sont à l’école, au travail, qu’ils dorment – ils vont l’allumer et faire un peu de minage ».<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
