Pendant le 5e Sommet Fintech Bund à Shanghai, le chef du département international de la Commission de Régulation des Banques et des Assurances de Chine, Fan Wenzhong, a déclaré: « Nous pensons tous que la blockchain est une innovation importante, mais nous ne devrions cependant pas la mythifier ». <\/p>

Selon le South China Morning Post, un journal sud-coréen basé à Hong Kong, le principal régulateur chinois a ajouté que « l’idée d’une comptabilité à plusieurs entrées n’est pas nouvelle et la décentralisation n’est pas non plus une nouvelle tendance, c’est un cycle car les premières transactions humaines étaient aussi sans autorité centrale ».<\/p>

Les remarques du régulateur font écho à la position ambivalente du gouvernement de Pékin en ce qui concerne les cryptos et la blockchain en général, louant d’une part la technologie blockchain pour son caractère innovateur tout en mettant en garde contre les risques liés à des cryptos non régulées d’autre part.<\/p>

« La Blockchain est une innovation utile, mais cela ne signifie pas pour autant que les cryptomonnaies, auxquelles la blockchain a donné naissance, sont nécessairement utiles », a ajouté Fan, tout en mettant en garde contre les ICO frauduleuses qui se font passer pour des « projets blockchain ».<\/p>

Pendant la répression qui s’est exercée sur l’industrie l’année dernière, le gouvernement chinois a forcé à la fois les ICO et les exchanges crypto à quitter le pays.
