Le nouvel actif, appelé PayPal USD (PYUSD)<\/strong>, a été conçu pour répondre au “potentiel émergent” du besoin de “transformer les paiements dans les environnements Web3 et numériques natifs”<\/strong>. Tout ce que vous devez savoir sur cette grande avancée. <\/p>

Paypal, une identité de précurseur <\/h2><\/span>

Ce stablecoin a été construit sur Ethereum <\/strong>et sera émis par la Paxos Trust Company<\/strong>, une société basée à New York qui fournit une infrastructure de blockchain réglementée. PYUSD est garanti à 100 % par des dépôts en dollars américains<\/strong>, des bons du Trésor à court terme et des équivalents de trésorerie similaires. Le stablecoin sera en permanence échangeable contre des dollars américains à 1 contre 1<\/strong>. <\/p>

A partir de maintenant, les clients PayPal américains éligibles pourront transférer des PYUSD entre PayPal et des portefeuilles externes compatibles<\/strong>, effectuer des transferts d’argent<\/strong> vers d’autres comptes, des achats<\/strong> et enfin convertir leurs portefeuilles dans les autres cryptos<\/strong> opérées par la plateforme de paiement. PayPal USD sera disponible pour les consommateurs, les commerçants et les développeurs<\/strong>, permettant à tous de connecter les monnaies fiduciaires et numériques. <\/p>

Car la décision de PayPal de créer son propre stablecoin n’est pas une surprise. La société permet en effet déjà à ses utilisateurs d’acheter, de transférer et de vendre certaines crypto-monnaies dans l’application (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum et Litecoin). C’est que l’entreprise basée à Palo Alto a depuis longtemps compris le potentiel des crypto-monnaies. <\/p>

“Le passage aux monnaies numériques nécessite un instrument stable qui soit à la fois natif numériquement et facilement connecté à une monnaie fiduciaire comme le dollar américain”, a déclaré Dan Schulman, président et PDG de la société californienne. “Notre engagement envers l’innovation responsable et la conformité, ainsi que nos antécédents en matière d’expériences nouvelles pour nos clients, fournissent la base nécessaire pour contribuer à la croissance des paiements numériques via PayPal USD.” Il est sûr qu’une grande entreprise émettant un stablecoin adossé à la plus grande monnaie du monde, cela a de quoi à rassurer. <\/p>

Autre point intéressant, le lancement de PYUSD intervient alors que les acteurs du marché attendent un vote au Congrès sur un projet de loi clé sur ces actifs numériques<\/strong> qui vient d’être présenté à la Chambre, en compagnie de 3 autres réglementations visant le marché des cryptos. Un processus législatif lancé après les nombreux procès intentés par la SEC<\/a> aux géants du secteur en 2023, qui rendent pour l’instant l’univers des cryptos plus qu’incertain aux USA. <\/p>

Pourtant, cette annonce est une preuve de plus que les grandes sociétés américaines deviennent chaque jour un peu plus crypto-compatibles, alors que le géant Blackrock a déposé en juin<\/a> une demande auprès de la SEC pour la création d’un ETF bitcoin au comptant.<\/p>
