Une bonne nouvelle émerge l’industrie des crypto-monnaies alors que l’échange Bitfinex réussit à récupérer une somme de 314 000 dollars en espèces<\/strong>, ainsi que 6,917 BCH (Bitcoin Cash) d’une valeur de 2 000 dollars<\/strong>, provenant d’un hack qui remonte à 2016.<\/p>

Bitfinex : récupération de fonds volés de 2016 grâce du Département de la Sécurité intérieure américain<\/h2><\/span>

Dans un communiqué publié jeudi<\/a>, Bitfinex a récemment récupéré les actifs grâce au soutien du Département américain de la Sécurité intérieure<\/strong>, qui a joué un rôle déterminant dans la saisie des actifs numériques volés et la poursuite des coupables.<\/p>

“Dans notre quête pour récupérer les actifs volés de Bitfinex en 2016, nous sommes extrêmement heureux d’atteindre une nouvelle étape de succès”<\/p><\/blockquote>

Après le piratage, les voleurs ont déplacé les crypto-monnaies volées à plusieurs reprises<\/strong>. Un expert en blockchain Forensics a précédemment déclaré<\/a> qu’il pensait que les pirates informatiques déplaçaient les fonds entre les plateformes d’échange présentant moins de protocoles de connaissance du client (KYC)<\/strong> — un processus connu sous le nom de “chain hopping”.<\/p>

“Nous espérons récupérer autant de bitcoins volés que possible et les redistribuer aux détenteurs de jetons émis en réponse à l’attaque de 2016.” a déclaré Paolo Ardoino<\/strong><\/a>, directeur de la technologie chez Bitfinex.<\/p><\/blockquote>

Cependant, cette stratégie n’a pas fonctionné. Finalement, les forces de l’ordre américaines ont réussi à localiser et à récupérer les fonds volés lors de la plus grande saisie de crypto-monnaies à ce jour<\/strong>, démantelant ainsi une « technique de blanchiment sophistiquée ».<\/p>

Distribution équitable des fonds récupérés<\/h2><\/span>

Les fonds récupérés seront distribués de manière proportionnelle aux détenteurs des Recovery Right Tokens (RRT)<\/strong>. Ces jetons ont été émis à l’intention des personnes affectées par le piratage de 2016. Les détenteurs de RRT peuvent échanger leurs jetons 1:1 avec 1 dollar des fonds récupérés<\/strong>, et 30 millions de RRT sont toujours en circulation.<\/p>

Un piratage qui a causé une perte de 119 756 BTC, récupération progressive des fonds<\/h2><\/span>

Bitfinex avait perdu 119 756 BTC<\/strong> suite à une faille de sécurité lors du piratage de 2016<\/a>. Depuis lors, le gouvernement américain a récupéré progressivement les fonds liés à cette attaque<\/strong>. En février 2022, le département de la Justice a récupéré 94 000 BTC<\/a>, d’une valeur de 3,6 milliards de dollars à l’époque<\/strong>, pour le compte de Bitfinex, comme l’a précédemment rapporté le média The Block.<\/p>

Cette récupération inattendue constitue une étape importante pour Bitfinex<\/a>, qui a travaillé avec le Département de la Sécurité intérieure américain pour retrouver les fonds volés et garantir la sécurité de ses utilisateurs<\/strong>. Alors que les attaques de piratage<\/a> sont malheureusement courantes dans le domaine des crypto-monnaies, cette réussite témoigne des efforts continus déployés pour restaurer la confiance dans l’écosystème<\/strong>.<\/p>
