La plateforme de trading Robinhood a récemment annoncé retirer trois tokens majeurs <\/strong>de ses services : Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA) et Polygon (MATIC). <\/p>

Cela intervient après que la Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)<\/strong>, le gendarme financier des États-Unis, ait classé ces actifs numériques en tant que “securities”, ou “titre” en français. <\/p>

Robinhood suit les indications de la SEC <\/h2><\/span>

La SEC accroît la pression sur les crypto-actifs<\/strong> aux USA, faisant passer trois crypto-monnaies<\/a> du top 15 dans la classification “titre”<\/strong> que l’on peut également désigner par “valeur mobilière”<\/strong>. <\/p>

Suite à cette décision du régulateur américain, Robinhood, plateforme de trading fondée en avril 2013 par Vladimir Tenev et Baiju Bhatt, a décidé de délister les actifs concernés<\/strong>. Dans un communiqué<\/a> publié sur le site de la plateforme, on peut lire : <\/p>

“Nous révisons régulièrement les crypto-monnaies que nous offrons sur Robinhood. Sur la base de notre dernier examen, nous avons décidé de mettre fin au soutien de Cardano (ADA), Polygon (MATIC) et Solana (SOL) le 27 juin 2023 à 6:59 PM ET. Aucune autre pièce n’est affectée et votre crypto est toujours en sécurité sur Robinhood.”<\/p><\/blockquote>

La plateforme rappelle aux utilisateurs qu’ils peuvent toujours trader, échanger ou vendre les trois jetons jusqu’à la deadline du 27 juin<\/strong>. Robinhood rappelle également que, passé la deadline, si un portefeuille contient encore du SOL, du ADA ou du MATIC, il verra ces trois actifs liquidés<\/strong> au prix du marché. Cependant, les utilisateurs verront tout de même le produit de la vente être crédité sur leur compte Robinhood<\/strong>. <\/p>

Dans le même communiqué, la plateforme rappelle aux détenteurs des trois actifs concernés qu’ils ne sont pas obligés de vendre et peuvent parfaitement transférer les crypto-monnaies<\/strong> en question vers d’autres plateformes d’échange<\/a> ou portefeuilles crypto<\/a>. <\/p>

Solana et Cardano contestent la décision de la SEC<\/h2><\/span>

Les représentants de Cardano dénoncent la décision de la SEC en appelant à l’incompréhension et à l’inefficacité<\/strong> du régulateur. Ils déclarent : <\/p>

“Ce dernier dossier de la SEC nous démontre une fois de plus que nous avons un long chemin à parcourir en matière de législation. La réglementation par application ne nous donne ni la clarté ni la certitude auxquelles l’industrie blockchain et les consommateurs ont droit”.<\/p><\/blockquote>

La fondation Solana conteste également la décision de la Securities and Exchange Commission. Dans un communiqué envoyé à Coindesk, les représentants de Solana déclarent : <\/p>

 “La Fondation Solana est fermement convaincue que SOL ne doit pas être considéré comme une valeur mobilière. SOL est le jeton natif de la blockchain Solana, un projet logiciel robuste, open-source et communautaire qui repose sur l’engagement décentralisé des utilisateurs et des développeurs pour sa croissance et son évolution”<\/p><\/blockquote>

Les deux écosystèmes, dont le prix des tokens a subi une chute de quelques pourcents à la suite de l’annonce de la SEC, contestent la décision du régulateur et ses méthodes<\/strong>. On dénonce notamment le test de Howey qui permet au régulateur de classifier un actif financier. Ce test daté<\/strong>, créé en 1946, est souvent décrit comme obsolète par ses détracteurs. <\/p>

Mais la SEC et son président Gary Gensler ne semblent pas entendre les revendications<\/strong> de la crypto-sphère. Le régulateur américain, déjà sur le dos de quelques géants de l’industrie comme BinanceUS<\/a> ou Coinbase, ne compte pas s’arrêter là. Sa décision concernant Solana, Cardano et Polygon impacte déjà certaines plateformes comme Robinhood<\/strong>. <\/p>
