D’après un rapport de Coinbase sur son blog, l’échange de crypto-monnaies envisage de lancer une plateforme d’échange de produits dérivés basée aux Bermudes.<\/strong> Le géant américain a reçu une licence pour lancer son opération dans la nation insulaire.<\/p>

Coinbase arrive aux Bermudes<\/h2><\/span>

Coinbase a obtenu une licence pour lancer une plateforme d’échange basée aux Bermudes dès la semaine prochaine. L’annonce a été faite dans un article sur son blog<\/a> du 19 avril dernier.<\/p>

La plateforme d’échange<\/a> basée aux États-Unis a annoncé avoir effectivement reçu une licence réglementaire de la part de l’Autorité monétaire des Bermudes<\/strong>. Le régulateur financier de la nation insulaire a délivré une licence de classe F conformément au Digital Asset Business Act.<\/p>

Grâce à cette licence, Coinbase pourra lancer un échange de produits dérivés pour effectuer des activités<\/a> comme la vente et l’émission de jetons numériques. En plus d’être un fournisseur d’échange de dérivés d’actifs numériques, Coinbase pourra également agir comme échange de crypto-actifs avec cette licence.<\/p>

La plateforme d’échange devrait mettre en marche son plan dès la semaine prochaine<\/strong> comme l’a relevé Forbes dans un article<\/a>. Le média a confirmé avoir eu l’information d’une personne proche de l’entreprise.<\/p>

Pourquoi choisir les Bermudes ?<\/h2><\/span>

Il est légitime de se demander pourquoi Coinbase, basée aux États-Unis, décide de lancer un échange aux Bermudes. La plateforme s’est exprimée à ce sujet.<\/p>

D’après son explication, ce sont des réglementations claires dans le pays<\/strong> qui ont poussé Coinbase à choisir les Bermudes comme un centre financier. En effet, l’échange a expliqué que la nation insulaire est connue depuis des années pour sa grande rigueur, sa transparence, sa conformité et sa coopération.<\/p>

Selon certains membres de la communauté crypto, ce ne serait pas les seules raisons qui auraient poussé Coinbase à se diriger aux Bermudes. Cette annonce pourrait très bien être le début d’une nouvelle ère qui entraînera le départ futur de l’échange des États-Unis.<\/strong><\/p>

En effet, l’annonce de l’ouverture d’un échange aux Bermudes intervient juste un jour après que le PDG Brian Armstrong a confié que la plateforme étudie la possibilité de quitter les États-Unis<\/strong>. Lors d’un événement fintech à Londres, M. Armstrong a révélé que le manque de clarté réglementaire dans son pays était un problème pris très au sérieux par son équipe.<\/p>

Le PDG de Coinbase avait déjà critiqué l’état de la réglementation de la crypto aux États-Unis en novembre 2022. À son avis, la SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) entretient le flou autour de la réglementation<\/strong>, ce qui poussait les investisseurs et les sociétés à partir à l’étranger<\/a>.<\/p>

Une autre raison pourrait pousser Coinbase à s’installer aux Bermudes. Le pays dispose d’une législation fiscale<\/a> favorable. En effet, les entreprises qui opèrent depuis les Bermudes bénéficient d’un taux d’imposition des sociétés à 0%.<\/strong> Bien qu’elles doivent payer une taxe sur les salaires, les entreprises bénéficient d’une réduction de leurs dépenses, ce qui est très attrayant.<\/p>

Par ailleurs, l’installation de Coinbase aux Bermudes est la suite d’une politique d’extension à l’international <\/strong>qui consiste à \u00ab\u00a0établir des entités réglementées et des opérations locales\u00a0\u00bb. Cette opération a été baptisée campagne “go broad and go deep”.<\/p>

D’autres pays ont déjà été concernés par cette campagne au Canada<\/a>, au Brésil, à Singapour, aux Émirats arabes unis et en Europe.<\/p>
