Das firmeneigene Dashboard weist die Kosten nun mit 66 US-Dollar aus, nach StarkWare-Angaben liegt der Wert damit unter der zuvor genannten Marke von 67 US-Dollar. Damit r\u00fcckt die als \u201eQuantum-Safe Bitcoin\u201c (QSB) bezeichnete Notfalll\u00f6sung n\u00e4her an die Praxistauglichkeit, allerdings stammen die Zahlen bislang ausschlie\u00dflich aus Benchmark-Tests.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wettbewerb dr\u00fcckt Rechenkosten deutlich<\/strong><\/h2><span class=\"replacer\"><\/span><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die erste QSB-Transaktion auf dem Bitcoin-Mainnet wurde laut StarkWare am 26. August best\u00e4tigt. Ihre Vorbereitung erforderte rund 3.100 GPU-Stunden auf etwa 100 Grafikprozessoren und kostete ungef\u00e4hr 320 US-Dollar, ohne die regul\u00e4ren Bitcoin-Netzwerkgeb\u00fchren.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Um diesen Aufwand zu senken, starteten StarkWare, Yukon Research und Eigen Labs am 16. September den Quantum-Safe Bitcoin Optimization Challenge. Entwickler, Forscher und KI-Agenten waren eingeladen, die Software zur Transaktionsvorbereitung effizienter zu gestalten. Laut StarkWare gingen daraus 62 angenommene Verbesserungen in zwei zentralen Rechenaufgaben hervor, die den gesch\u00e4tzten Rechenaufwand um etwa 79 Prozent dr\u00fcckten. Wichtig bleibt: Die Reduktion basiert auf Benchmark-Tests und wurde bislang nicht in einer realen Produktionstransaktion nachgewiesen.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Warum QSB als Notfalll\u00f6sung gilt<\/strong><\/h2><span class=\"replacer\"><\/span><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">StarkWare-Forscher Avihu Levy ver\u00f6ffentlichte das QSB-Design im April. Das Konzept soll hash-basierten Schutz gegen k\u00fcnftige Quantenangriffe erm\u00f6glichen, ohne die Konsensregeln von Bitcoin zu ver\u00e4ndern. Levy ordnete die L\u00f6sung damals wegen Kosten, Komplexit\u00e4t und begrenzter Anwendbarkeit ausdr\u00fccklich als letztes Mittel ein.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die zugrundeliegende Bedrohung betrifft die elliptischen-Kurven-Signaturen, auf denen Bitcoin basiert. Besonders gef\u00e4hrdet w\u00e4ren Coins, deren \u00f6ffentliche Schl\u00fcssel bereits offengelegt sind.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Soft Fork bleibt langfristiges Ziel<\/strong><\/h2><span class=\"replacer\"><\/span><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">StarkWare stellt die Kostensenkung als direktes Ergebnis des Optimierungswettbewerbs dar, betont aber gleichzeitig, dass QSB kein Ersatz f\u00fcr eine tiefere Protokoll\u00e4nderung ist. Nach Einsch\u00e4tzung des Unternehmens bleibt eine Soft Fork \u2013 also eine \u00c4nderung der Bitcoin-Konsensregeln \u2013 die bessere langfristige Antwort auf einen breiten quantensicheren Schutz des Netzwerks.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">F\u00fcr Halter gro\u00dfer, bislang ungesch\u00fctzter Bitcoin-Best\u00e4nde k\u00f6nnte die niedrigere Kostensch\u00e4tzung die Notfallabsicherung praktikabler machen als noch im August. Die L\u00f6sung bleibt jedoch experimentell und wurde bisher nur unter Laborbedingungen optimiert.
