O hacker XCarnival<\/strong>, um agregador de empréstimos para ativos do metaverso, aceitou uma recompensa de ETH 1.500 (US$ 1,85 milhão) em troca da devolução dos restantes ETH 1.467 (US$ 1,8 milhão).<\/p>

As transações do Etherscan mostram que o hacker já enviou ETH 1.467 para o endereço compartilhado pela equipe do XCarnival.<\/p>

No domingo, um hacker conseguiu explorar uma falha no código do contrato inteligente, informou a empresa de segurança blockchain PeckShield, afirmando na época que o ETH 3.087 foi roubado.<\/p>

“O hack é possível ao permitir que um NFT prometido retirado [token não fungível] ainda seja usado como garantia, que é então explorado pelo hacker para drenar ativos do pool”, disse PeckShield.<\/p>

Em uma tentativa de recuperar os fundos roubados, a equipe do XCarnival estendeu a mão para o hacker com uma oferta de recompensa de US$ 300.000 e se comprometeu a não entrar com ação policial se devolver as quantias restantes.<\/p>

“1500º – todo mundo está feliz? 300º muito baixo”, disse o hacker em uma mensagem na cadeia. “1500 ETH é aceitável”, respondeu a equipe do XCarnival, pedindo ao hacker que enviasse os fundos restantes.<\/p>

De acordo com um tweet compartilhado no domingo, o contrato inteligente do XCarnival foi suspenso, enquanto “todas as ações de depósito e empréstimo não são temporariamente suportadas”.<\/p>

O XCarnival, que se descreve como o “principal player do banco de ativos do metaverso”, permite que os usuários obtenham altas taxas de rendimento percentual anual (APY) emprestando seus NFTs e outros ativos criptográficos suportados.<\/p>

Enquanto isso, o token nativo do projeto XCV foi duramente atingido por esse hack recente. O token caiu 10% nas últimas 24 horas, enquanto aumentou 1% em uma semana.<\/p>
