A exchange de criptomoedas LCX <\/strong>foi vítima de um hack no fim de semana que roubou quase US$ 8 milhões em ativos digitais. <\/p>

O hacker conseguiu comprometer uma das hot wallets da exchange na Ethereum (ETH) blockchain, roubando grandes quantidades de ETH, USD coin (USDC), EURe e SAND Token.<\/p>

“Às 23h23 CET de 9 de janeiro de 2022, a equipe de tecnologia da LCX detectou acesso não autorizado a uma carteira criptográfica. Um total de aproximadamente 7,94 milhões de dólares em criptoativos foram roubados. 0,7 milhão de dólares foram congelados”, a exchange detalhou em um relatório.<\/p>

A exchange ainda não divulgou planos para qualquer tipo de reembolso, mas insistiu que “fará tudo ao seu alcance para mitigar o impacto desse incidente e restaurar o serviço completo o mais rápido possível”. Também interrompeu as funcionalidades de depósito e retirada.<\/p>

Em parceria com a empresa de tecnologia financeira Monerium<\/strong>, a LCX congelou (desativou para movimentações onchain) cerca de 611.000 tokens EURe roubados (no valor de cerca de US$ 692.000).<\/p>

“Outras carteiras LCX, como Bitcoin, HBAR, ADA, DGB, TIA ou DGMV, não foram afetadas”, disse a exchange.<\/p>

A principal plataforma de segurança ImmuneFi <\/strong>revelou em um recente relatório que os protocolos de criptografia e finanças descentralizadas (DeFi<\/a>) perderam cumulativamente mais de US$ 10 bilhões em fundos de usuários devido a hacks e exploração em 2021. Alegadamente, houve 120 casos de hacks relacionados a criptomoedas no ano passado.<\/p>

Somente no último mês de 2021, Cryptonews.com <\/i>relatou pelo menos sete casos de hacks de criptomoedas.<\/p>
