O clube de futebol londrino Arsenal FC <\/strong>atraiu a ira da Advertising Standards<\/strong> Authority <\/strong>(ASA) do Reino Unido, pelo que o regulador chama de “tirar proveito da inexperiência dos consumidores de criptoativos”.<\/p>

O regulador proibiu as postagens no Facebook <\/strong>e em sites em que o lado do futebol promovia tokens<\/a> de torcedor. <\/p>

Em julho passado, o Arsenal FC revelou sua parceria com o provedor de blockchain Chiliz <\/strong>para lançar seu fan token, AFC, no aplicativo Socios.com<\/strong>, e publicou as postagens no mês seguinte.<\/p>

De acordo com o ASA, o Arsenal disse que Fan Tokens eram tokens utilitários utilizados para “encorajar a participação dos fãs” e, portanto, eram “materialmente diferentes das criptomoedas, que eram moedas virtuais usadas como meio de pagamento”. Além disso, eles alegaram que os Fan Tokens não são investimentos especificados sob a Lei de Serviços e Mercados Financeiros de 2000, disse a ASA.<\/p>

“Além disso, o Arsenal disse que quando os anúncios foram disponibilizados aos seguidores do Clube, os fan tokens não puderam ser negociados no app Socios”, segundo o comunicado.<\/p>

As explicações não convenceram o vigilante que decidiu manter a sua decisão e proibir as propagandas e ações promocionais da equipe relacionadas aos tokens de torcida.<\/p>

“Reconhecemos que os anúncios não promovem os Fan Tokens como um investimento ou produto financeiro. No entanto, o produto era um criptoativo independentemente de como era promovido e os anúncios não continham nenhuma informação de que [o imposto sobre ganhos de capital] poderia ser pago sobre os lucros do investimento em criptoativos”, disse a ASA. “Portanto, consideramos que as implicações fiscais potenciais não foram deixadas suficientemente claras para os consumidores que consideram investir nisso.”<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>

O regulador disse ao Arsenal FC que os anúncios não devem aparecer novamente na forma reclamada, e exigiu que o lado “garantisse que seus futuros anúncios não banalizassem o investimento em criptoativos e não tirassem proveito irresponsavelmente da falta de experiência dos consumidores ou credulidade por não deixar claro que a CGT pode ser devida aos lucros do criptoativo.”<\/p>

Um porta-voz do Arsenal disse à BBC que o lado leva suas responsabilidades com relação ao marketing muito a sério e que buscaria uma revisão independente da decisão do ASA “para buscar maior clareza sobre a posição atual do ASA.”<\/p>
