De acordo com o meio de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o Ta Kung Pao, com sede em Hong Kong, os criminosos continuam a visar os comerciantes em negocia\u00e7\u00f5es presenciais (OTC) – o \u00faltimo ataque envolvendo um comerciante de criptomoedas com quantias significativas de tether (USDT) foi hospitalizado ap\u00f3s um ataque, com sete pessoas presas.<\/p>

A pol\u00edcia disse estar \u00e0 procura de \u201cpelo menos sete ou oito\u201d outros suspeitos em conex\u00e3o com o suposto crime.<\/p>

No que a m\u00eddia chamou de um caso “chocante” que lembra um pouco um incidente recente na Espanha, um trader an\u00f4nimo (39 anos) com cerca de US$ 3,1 milh\u00f5es em tokens em carteiras de exchanges, se encontrou com uma pessoa que aparentemente estava se passando por um vendedor genu\u00edno de criptomoedas em um neg\u00f3cio envolvendo US$ 0,5 milh\u00e3o de USDT. O comerciante se encontrou com o “comprador” em uma unidade de edif\u00edcio industrial na Ba\u00eda de Kowloon de Hong Kong, onde a v\u00edtima teria sido emboscada e levada para uma \u00e1rea residencial separada onde foi “for\u00e7ado a entregar seu telefone celular, informa\u00e7\u00f5es de login de conta banc\u00e1ria online e exchange.\u201d Os agressores parecem ter usado viol\u00eancia, socando e chutando repetidamente a v\u00edtima e usando “martelos e outras ferramentas” para infligir dor e ferimentos – deixando o comerciante com “fraturas m\u00faltiplas nas m\u00e3os e p\u00e9s e ferimentos f\u00edsicos graves”.<\/p>

Os supostos sequestradores tentaram entrar em contato com a fam\u00edlia da v\u00edtima e extorquir uma taxa de resgate de cerca de US$ 4,7 milh\u00f5es pela liberta\u00e7\u00e3o do comerciante. A fam\u00edlia, disse a pol\u00edcia, se recusou a pagar e, em 12 de novembro, o comerciante conseguiu escapar rastejando por uma “janela estreita do s\u00f3t\u00e3o”.<\/p>

A pol\u00edcia encontrou o comerciante pouco depois e entrou nas instala\u00e7\u00f5es onde a v\u00edtima estava detida, prendendo dois suspeitos no local.<\/p>

Os policiais disseram que os suspeitos (seis homens e uma mulher) tinham “experi\u00eancias relacionadas a gangues” e estavam desempregados ou trabalhavam nas ind\u00fastrias de alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o, transporte e autom\u00f3veis.<\/p>

A pol\u00edcia prendeu o grupo sob a acusa\u00e7\u00e3o de sequestro e forma\u00e7\u00e3o de quadrilha para sequestrar e afirmou que a v\u00edtima havia sofrido \u201cferimentos n\u00e3o fatais\u201d.<\/p>
